Wider shot of mine. Stupid chick in the fusion drove across a lane of traffic and nailed me hard, heading to ER now.

Just some back and shoulder pain. Getting worse as the adrenaline wears off. Should be ok, more worried about the car at this point. Doesn't steer right, so I sent someone with a trailer to go pick it up.

Damn hopefully you are ok and hopefully nobody was in the pass seat.

Definitely make sure all is well with you tho... that car is replaceable as much as it sucks to have it like that. I'd almost guarantee it is totaled too... hopefully you have full coverage or her insurance will pay for it, if not... donor car.

You know if she was texting and driving or just stupid or what?

Glad to hear you are ok, could have been nasty. Hope your pain goes away quickly, or they give you some really nice drugs to numb it, and numb your mind from your car. But everyone is right the car should be the least of concern until you know youre ok physically, then get pissed about it. Seeing your threads on here you take care of stuff pretty quick so Im sure you will have a replacement or your car fixed asap. I would be pissed about the car too more so than my body (depending I guess), just have to put stuff in perspective sometimes, it will all work itself out. Good luck and I hope all works out well and YOU check out good. Better times are ahead my friend.

I'm very lucky. Just before I left for work in decided not to ride one of the motorcycles. If I had, I wouldn't have been so lucky. I'll keep this thread updated through the insurance and repair stuff each step of the way through the process.

Jeez, always makes me sad to see threads like this. I'm glad to hear you're all right though. Hopefully the car isn't a total loss. How'd the chick manage to hit you? She run a red or something?

Hoping for a speedy recovery, man

Well, messed with the car and little this morning. The passenger side is fused shut. Surprisingly the door lock and window still work. Kind of. The window only goes down a couple inches before protesting with a loud clunk, not a surprising result.

Wow man. Hate seeing threads like this, we all know how much you love that car.

Glad to see that you weren't severely injured, and hopefully you are recovering from whatever injuries/pain you sustained. People who aren't car people think we're crazy when we show more concern for the car than ourselves. They just don't understand it takes a psychological toll seeing our hard work destroyed.

Hopefully everything works out for you. Keep us updated.

She floored it trying to cross a 4 lane road. I'm anxious to see what the adjuster says. I want to know as soon as possible if I should start looking around to buy another one.

This one is a toss up. Just by looking at it I would say it will need a donor car quarter with a door jamb. Obviously it will need a door, and paint on the door and quarter. Luckily it's a white car so the paint blend won't be too hard, but because the entire door will need to be replaced you are looking at the front fender possibly needing a paint blend and if the entire quarter is replaced the decklid and sail panels might also require a blend (typically "paneling" the car or just painting the panels results in an easily identifiable car that's had work done).

What's going to hurt you here is if it has done enough damage to the door structure and inner structure that the labor hours skyrocket. This on a car this age will typically cause it to be a total loss. I've said it before on Mevo, the insurance companies will usually try to total a car when the estimated repairs reach 80% of the car value. They do this because once work commences, if some additional work pops up they like to have a buffer so they do not surpass the value of the car in repairs. You can usually have a little bit of say in how that goes. I had a fox body get hit and they wanted to total it when the repairs hit 2500 bucks. I said give me the 2500 and do not total it, I will fix it on my own. This way they know the repairs end at 2500 (just an example). So if you are very attached to this car (which I'm sure you are), you can take the money and get this fixed on your own. You could get a junkyard door (that's even the right color) pretty cheap, then just pay someone to do the quarter and paint on a budget.

Anxious to hear what they have to say.

That's so stupid, I don't understand when people cannot wait their turn for traffic.

Well bad news. Repairs are going to exceed 5000. Looks like they are going to total the car. I'm pissed because I can find another 2004 with excellent paint and interior with under 100k miles and garage kept. My current one met that criteria. Going to keep looking. Looked at a 2016 and just plain don't like they way it looks. I want a new edge. I'm also keeping an eye out for an 03-04 cobra or mach. No luck so far in my area. Well aside from an 04 mach someone thought would be a good idea to spray paint flat black. Very splotchy, very ghetto looking...

Damn that sucks man. You should buy it back and fix it on the cheap. You could fix it for half that.

Buy it back, find some V6 that an old person garaged and drove to the store/bingo once a week and use it as a donor car.

This would also be a perfect candidate for a modfox donor if you want something cool and different that will turn a lot of heads. Especially if you got a notch.

Well seems like I may get lucky. They may be able to repair it and stay under the total threshold. I want them to fix it, as well taken care of new edges with under 100k on em are almost impossible to find here. It took me several months of looking and checking out cars before I found this one.

If they do total it out, I can cash flow a mach 1, if I could find one worth the money around here. I'd love a cobra, but around me the ones I've checked out are 20k plus, and my wife would crap a brick if I pulled that out of the bank to buy a toy.

Ultimately I want MY Mustang fixed. Besides while they are doing the work I'll have them paint my spoilerless decklid to swap out with the decklid with spoiler that's currently on it.

Great for you if it works out the way you want. Would be a great time to add or change stuff especially anything that would need paint like you said already. Hopefully it comes back to you better than it was before it was injured. Good luck with it all and Im glad you are good too physically and didnt have any injuries creep up on you like what happens sometimes after an accident..
