Carbon Fiber Doors

In case anyone is wondering.... Carbon Fiber doors for the New Edge is about to be a thing. A company called Ultra Carbon is starting to produce the first batch of them for sale.

35lbs cut per door... That assumes you keep the windows and speakers and everything else in there. Weight savings is even more if you take some of that out.

$2600 for the set....

Not a bad price for what you get IMO. These doors are heavy as hell.

Pretty interesting. Definitely a benefit for those looking to shave weight.

Nice to see some companies still making an effort to produce new product for the "older" late model cars.

$2600 is a pretty good price IMO, considering a hood alone usually runs people $1,000. I'm sure it doesn't include shipping though. I may pick up a set in the future before i get my car resprayed. No way i would run bare carbon finished doors. That would just look weird. Now if they can also make fenders, i will be a happy camper.

They need to do fenders and the decklid. I'd rock those on a street car. For the doors... not sure if I'd want them on a street car for safety reasons...

Ideally would want a cage with side bars. Fenders would be sweet. Carbon driven already does deck lids.

Well found out that a different company is going to be doing Carbon Fiber front fenders as well....

So it seems like my list for body panels is now: Hood, trunk lid, side skirts, doors, front fenders

Probably $10k right there lol
