Battery Relocation Questions

Got some battery relocation questions on my 2004 GT

I've got my box mounted in the back

I got the ground for the battery bolted down in the trunk

But i know the power wire that was originally up front had one wire that went to the fuse box, and then to the battery and on down to the starter. as well as the alternator

There is also the ground thats up front, it grounds on the two spots on the drivers side radiator support & hooks to the factory battery location and down to the block to ground.

My questions is what is everyone doing with their factory power wire, since it needs to goto all those places up front as wellas the 2-3 sensors/plugs that are on the wire.

And as far as the ground what do i need to do as well?

I was thinking of doing it this way

1. Run new red (+) wire from the original location to the trunk

2. Ground original black (-) wire to the engine bay

3. Connect the new and old red (+) wires in engine bay and seal wires with shrinkwrap or electrical tape

4. Ground New black (-) wire to frame from the battery

5. Connect New red (+) wire to battery

Basically, you need long enough battery cables so that they will reach the trunk, but, to avoid any ground related headaches, you will need to run the ground cable to where it is presently connected on the engine block.
Everything should be connected just as it is now. Only with longer cables running underneath the car to the battery in the trunk.
