For an automatic i'd go 4.10. I put 4.10 in my manual and love them. But lately i have been wanting 3.73. Maybe i'll change them out eventually after the engine and trans swap. But for auto definitely 4.10.

I'm leaning toward a 3.73 myself after everything I've read. If it was only a weekend car for in town, I would go 4.10. But it's my only and everyday car, so if I do change gears, I'm thinking 3.73 would be where I need it.

Whatever makes you happy. I personally think when i swap ill go with 410s. I wouldn't want to have my gears installed and then wish i had went with a higher gear count. I think the shorter shifts and more drone would be worth the acceleration feel.

If you're choosing 3.73s over 4.10s because you're concerned about gas milage as your DD, take it from someone who used to drive 3.73s and went to 4.10s as their DD - the mpg difference is marginal. I lost 1mpg... big whoop. For how much more fun 4.10s make your car, I'd be willing to give up more than just 1mpg...

So trmn8tr, no regrets on 4:10s then? I have an auto trans GT and just drive around town, not DD.

How do I get my odometer to show correct MPH on an 03 GT?

I had to buy a sct x4 tuner to fix the speedometer, no tune required for me just in the settings options.

410s on all! Auto or manual! I know 373 seems like a happy medium but so many do them and wish they had gone 410. Either way you will be very happy with the results. I cant wait to round up the parts and have 410s in my 03.

I see your HP and torque has increased quite a bit. More juice? I assume so. I thought a while back you were metioning adding 25 or 50hp more of a shot on it. Now you can get even better wheelies!

Ive been thinking more and more about getting set up with a 75-100 shot. A guy Im friends with has a ton of experience with nitrous systems, he has ran them for years. Hes trying to get me to go for it. He can install the whole kit for me cheaply (labor wise with me being the gopher), and fuel system upgrades, plugs, etc. We have a couple really good places to take to here in my area for a good dyno tune as well. Estimate so far from him, is he thinks we can get it all done for around $2500. But then I will have suspension issues with more HP and torque obviously. Have to start with subframes, LCAs, right away I would imagine. At least welded in full length sub frames.

Sorry for the off topic hijack, I apologize. Just get on tangents.

I have a manual transmission and I am going with the 3.90 gears...I see a lot of people complaining about a whine in the 4.10s...not sure if the automatics have the same issue with 4.10s! I am more of a daily driver guy that wants a little more pull from my steed!!!

Whine is all caused by how the gears were set up, not by the gear ratio itself.
