Unhappy ecu burning fuses

I have been working on my 96 gt 4,6 and put a throttle body, plenum, and lt headers, and springs on and cranked it back it out of the shop ok so far... I let it sit and idle for about 10 minutes before taking it down the road and back and it shut down on me. I looked and it had burnt the eec fuse so I put another in and it burnt that one also. could it be because I wasn't patient until my new tune got here for me to load? would it be bad to keep putting in fuses to get it off the highway?

I don't think that it will hurt to put in a new fuse to get the car home.

You need to go back through and CAREFULLY inspect all of the work that you just did on the car. You might have a wire that somehow became damaged in the course of the mods that were performed.

straybullitt, thanks for the reply. well I found out the pigtail going to the pas side rear 02 sensor had wires exposed and shorting out. I just cut the pigtail and will have to slice a new one in from the scrapyard, unless I replace the whole harness which I doubt. it's been running ok I have a small air leak somewhere no biggie I'll find it. I love the sound of the new headers.
