2001 coupe roof rack

So I'm looking for a roof rack to hold a kayak for my car luckily kayaks are light and I'm looking for something on the cheaper side but I still don't have to worry about it all the time too removable would definitely be a plus

This isn't asking to buy one, but just some ideas and suggestions, as well as maybe reviews and models that will for sure fit

Seriously? A roof rack on a Mustang? Do you really need an answer to the question "why not"? If you do just sell your Mustang right now! 😂

Again I ask why not? There's nothing wrong with a roof rack on a mustang. Some people can't afford a second car just to put their kayak/skis/snowboard etc on, it's just a Mustang.. I've seen people put worse on top of their Porsche's up here in Colorado. My car isn't going anywhere, and since when was it "girly" to go play an action sport? Kayaking takes more balls than driving a car around a track does.

To each his own I guess! Also, no one said anything about the activity being girly...the issue is placing a roof rack on a Mustang is sacrilege! Saying "it's just a Mustang" is also sacrilege! Put some altezza lights on the back while you are at it! 😂

Not that the OP will likely see this, but check out this website - https://www.yakima.com/

They make roof mounted bike racks and other things for Mustangs.

On the subject of if it should be done or not ... why not? Mustangs aren't special. They are just a cheap car.

If you can easily add more utility to a vehicle to suit your needs then why not?

I have friends that pull boats with their Vettes, tow trailers with their Porsches and CTS-Vs. Hell, I put a small hitch on my 2014 Mustang so I could tow a little trailer when I needed to. Adding functionality to a vehicle isn't wrong.

Torino, what is "sacrilege" is all that fake cosmetic stuff on your Mustang. That front spliter, that fake hood scoop and those fake brake ducts, hell, with all that fake cosmetic stuff, why don't you go buy yourself a nice riced out Honda?

I think what everyone is trying to say here is that the OP ask where he could find a roof rack for his car, not should he get a roof rack, because that is just solely an opinion and everyone has their own..

A Saleen you say?? OMG .. a Saleen.

Seriously, that car is just a regular, slow Mustang GT that Saleen bought, installed their ricer cosmetics on and resold it as an S281.

Thinking your car is anything else .. well, as you put it, "To each his own! One dumba** will follow another all day long!"

Whatever you would like to do to your mustang is your business. Definitely not my cup of tea but it's not up to anyone except for you. I have no information on roof racks though. I've never seen one in person on a mustang. Might be interesting. With that said, insulting people and their cars won't get anybody anywhere. Especially online. Respect goes a long way when dealing with others. In my opinion, a roof rack isn't great on a mustang. There is a 96' around here that is on a Chevy truck frame and jacked way up. To many it's sacrilege but it's kind of cool I think. Anyway, it is your car as well as your choice.

This is the most accurate description of most Saleens I can ever remember.

Only ones worth a damn were the supercharged ones and then only if you can get them for dirt cheap as the M90 is basically already maxed out on them. The one gem is the 1999 S351 and those are NOT cheap.

Also, bashing the guy for wanting to put a kayak on his stang? Wth, who cares? Dude might be going white water kayaking and internet warriors are telling him he's losing his "man card" (stupid concept btw).

Personally, I was just joking. He can do what he wants. I don't really care.

Jesus, leave the guy alone. He can do what he wants with his own damn car.

OP, check out carid.com They have some decent products. I knew an older guy who had a Yakima on his GT and loved it. Very good product for the price.

Got that right. I remember people telling me I could've gotten an early same gen Saleen or Roush over my Mach 1 for the same money. I always told them if I wanted a mediocre 2V car I'd buy a regular GT and save a few grand, not to mention the over the top body add ons.

As you said the S351 cars were rare and the Saleen Cobras. Like 14 coupes and 12 verts. I prefer the factory Termi look myself.
