Installing my SR Lowering Springs in 99-04

I m starting on my lowering springs tonight right after work but I m not too sure where to start. I m starting from the rear mostly going from what the instructions say on AM. They are the SR lowering springs and I will be installing the koni orange shocks and struts at the same time. Which would be better to do first the shocks or the springs, maybe around the same time? Its gonna get dark here soon. 🤔

It would be best to do them at the same time since they will have to come off anyways to replace the springs.

This is a guide from AM. Looks like the rears are 7 rings (coils) and not as tight of a spring as the fronts. Front you should be able to count 8 rings. In the guide they are starting with the rears.

In your pic it should be the set closest to your socket wrench

The fronts are the tighter springs and the rears have more space between them

Not to sound rude, but you should be able to see what springs match the factory ones once they have been removed.

It looks like the shorter ones match more with the design. The longer springs have a like a flat surface the bottom

Its the ones with more space between the coils and 7 rings to count up. Like Jeno said, rears arent wound as tight as the fronts.

Yeah the front ones are wound more and are tighter together to support the front

Same time! Rear is probably easier to do, do them first, front tomorrow!

Is the pigtail facing the drivers side, it does on all 4, which I assume you already know.

Can you use your jack to get the control arm to line up? Or a 2nd set of hands needed?

Yes I got the back installed both facing the driver side, now I noticed the drivers side tire had a screw in it so I had to come to tire shop to see if they can fix it before I can lower the car from the jack stand

The positive is that the screw was found before he had a flat tire that could have destroyed a wheel.

Looking good so far. Tell me how you like the koni shocks/struts when you are done. I plan to purchase them or save up for Bilsteins.

Ok Steve I might have to do them on Sunday morning with my dad helping out. My friends chickened out of helping me tommorrow and I pretty sure I will need help installing the front springs.
