I mean yes haha but the headlights definitely made a difference. I had the highest level of Silverstars but they were still more dim than my Kia Spectra used to be in far worse rain and snow storms. Headlight covers make it a lot more dim, I didn't fully realize how dim until I took them off.

A mach 1 grill delete would look good and paint the pony that comes with it yellow like you did on yours already.

I know about HID scatter. The headlight covers come off at night. Meanwhile, added another appearance mod sure to get me 40 extra HP. LOL

I have considered painting the center black on my hood. I wonder what it would look like if I faded a matte clear that changed to gloss at the front. Possibly have the edges of the black in gloss as well.

I can see it in my mind, I may have to break out the sketch pad and a few mock panels to test the appearance of the effect.

Another appearance mod. Black fuel door.

Plus a couple more goodies. Short throw shifter and a hood support kit to get rid of the hood prop.

eBay.

They are a bit of a pain because you have to remove the base to get the part off that goes inside the bulb hold down ring. Takes a bit of persuasion to do it.

Is the light output worth the effort?

Is the fog light a direct fit, or did that require modification also?

I don't know why these cars did not come from the factory with a short throw. The MGW on my car is amazing.

That car is progressing quickly. I really like what you have going on.

The radiator cover adds a lot.

How much of a pain is the fuel door to install?

What Jeno said. Really easy.

The radiator cover AM sent is wrong. I ordered polished. They sent brushed. It's supposed to be nice and shiny.

While you're under the hood I think you should replace all of the hoses with braided ones and contrasting / complimenting anodized colored clamps. Polish the aluminum A/C, power steering, and brake lines. Also change the wire loom to the same color as the hose clamp color. That would brighten things up quite a bit.

Also, don't forget a chrome or polished alternator, billet filler caps and dipstick, master cylinder cover, etc.

A grill delete with a bare aluminum Fluidyne radiator would add a bit of a pop as well.

I am living vicariously through your build at the moment.

One more: have the mirrors sanded smooth, prepped, and painted body color.

I like the look of the Bullitt style fuel lids. If I find $50 to waste I may add one at some point.

That is definitely in the plans. Just got a polished fuse box cover today.

I did that to my daughters 95.

I'm considering it. Just don't know if that would be too much yellow....

LED reverse lights. Those without the Mach 1000 sound system do not know the struggle of removing the taillights.

Before:

After:

While I was in there, replaced the other bulbs with new ones. I'm pretty sure the ones in there were original. The one in the right is a new bulb.

My apologies, I thought you meant the LED backup lights. NO, the LED headlight bulbs totally suck, even with new housings. They look good looking at them from the front, but virtually no forward light. I knew this, of course, same light scatter as HID's. I just ordered some xtreme vision bulbs to replace the LED's. The headlights I bought are TYC. I did a ton of research and found these to have the highest reviews and the least complaints about moisture getting inside. They have both horizontal and vertical adjustments and are CAPA certified (whatever the hell that means). Hopefully with the new bulbs I can get it adjusted so I can actually see more than 10 feet in front of the car. Haven't had to deal with this all summer as I was rarely out after dark, but now it's getting darker earlier, I need to be able to see!

It looks like you are going to have a very nice car when this build is done. Those seat covers definitely make it noticeable!

Regarding door mirrors, look for some Terminator mirrors.

Perfect blend. Not fully painted and rice looking, in my opinion. But looks a lot better than the normal GT mirrors.

Are the Cobra / Terminator mirrors foldable? If they are I am going to dig through my local salvage yard to see what may be laying around.

Those look really good. I'm going to start looking for some!

Edit: Holy crap those things are expensive.....used pair on ebay $419.00 (wrong color though). Think I'll spend my money elsewhere for now...haha

I'll keep looking though. Try the pull a part as well.

I just did an online search in my area for pull a parts. I came up empty.

If you find a set let me know. I will keep you updated as well. I have a budget Pony build going on here in GA.
