Need to build my tr3650 for 500rwhp and possibly 700rwtq

I need to build my tr3650. Planning to run a 250 shot thru it. Possibly 700rwtq and plan to make 500rwhp. What all do I need to make it work to withstand hard launching on radials. Any info helps. Already have 26 spline input shaft.

Send it to the 3650 source and tell them you want it to hold that much. They do amazing trans builds.

I wish I knew more about rebuilding transmissions. They are a simple mechanical assembly, but one small miscalculation screws everything up.

I had my 3650 rebuilt twice under ESP. I then had it fail again, (always 2nd or more often 3rd) and had it rebuilt out of my pocket even though I told this local tranny pro that we should prolly go T56. He said "no will build it tough enough". After having it fail two more times, I finally twisted the input shaft on the fifth fail to when he said, (you can't keep this up, and suggested a T56 swap)... I purchased a complete 03/04 Cobra swap with a 26 spline input conversion and had them install the whole kit and combudle. While it was great on the street, the gearing sucked at the track.
I am now built 4R70W and love it! Except coming down a canyon.
In all respect, I don't think anyone can make a crappy 3650 handle the power your talking about. If you really want to stay manual, I would go withe a TKO 600, which can handle the power, but are sloppy shifters. You could also get a 295 first gear Magnum XL, but they are pricey and heavy.
I wouldn't waste my time on a 3650!

2.66 1st gear.

Hmm I have 2.90 gears in 1st with 4.10 gears and a 28" tire and mines pretty short gear. Is that 2.66 to long?

Well that certainly explains your killer tourqe numbers. If your rolling through a stock 3650, your 1st gear is 3.28 or 3.27.
I forget, but its definitely not 2.90.

is site appears to offer built 3650's.

Rebuilt TR3650 Transmissions in Atlanta Georgia

There doesn't appear to be that many out there that mess with the 3650.

I agree with most of what 32VALVR wrote.

Where I disagree is that the 2.66 1st gear is not good for the track. A taller first gear is a good thing in a car that makes good power. My Z28 makes 430 whp and 400 wtq on motor and 588 whp and close to 700 wtq (not including the 750+ wtq spike on the initial hit) on a 150 shot.

In day to day driving, my car gets 26+ MPG on the highway with 3.42's and can run up to 62 MPH in 1st gear (7200 RPM, 285/40/17 and 3.42 gear) and it never feels like its to tall of a gear.

On the track, that tall 1st gear helps minimize wheel spin when properly driven. Attached is a time slip showing that the car moves off the line pretty well with that tall 1st gear.

Also, the T56 is a tough as hell transmission and will take SERIOUS abuse before it will break.

As the former owner of a car with a TKO 600, it can hold power but it's a horrible shifting transmission.

Well looks like I'm just rebuilding my tranny.. I guess I'm getting a deluxe synchro ring kit with all rings for all gears, bronze shift fork pads.. idk what else to maybe upgrade in this tranny while I'm in there.
