4v Heads? $40 Opinions?

Have a chance to buy a complete set of 4v heads off of a 97 Mark VIII. Their complete, and basically everything else to swap a 2v to a 4v including the harness. The guy wants them gone and I can get them for $40 for all of it. Just thinking of buying them and then resell them? Any opinions on if this is worth it or not?

Ill be going on Monday morning to pick it all up for $40. Its heads, cams, valve covers, all bolts, all timing components, wire harness, pullies, etc, etc. I will see if its the whole 2v to 4v swap, if so and even if the heads need to be worked I think I could sell it around $200 complete with not too many issues. Trouble with shipping is the cost would be high I would assume since the heads are heavyish, let alone the other parts.

Maybe Ill keep them and swap one of mine in the spring if its all in good condition or even close to good. IDK, thats a big under taking for me with limited tools and time (somewhat) and a pricey job to pay labor on.

But with 4v heads and the right exhaust and tune you basically get a Mach 1 minus the shaker. It would make a nice sleeper.

Possibly. Maybe Ill price them real high so no one buys them then Ill have the excuse that I have to spring for the rest of the swap!

I would imagine the 2v to 4v swap on my npi 96 would be quite involved or even to swap my 03 2v to 4v.

If you know how to pull the heads, degree the cams, and set the timing it's not that bad.

Oh, and retune for the extra air / fuel ratio that the engine will be pumping.

Yeah that would be awesome! We will see, its a possibility. I know an ex engine builder I used to work with who doesnt do that much wrenching anymore due to back issues but he will do some side work here and there. He is good, he rebuilt the top end of a motor for me a few years ago and it was flawless. He has all the tools, picker, etc etc, and a nice garage. Maybe Ill hit him up if he wants a winter project/job.
