Okay all, new to the forum. I picked up a 2000 3.8 5 speed car and immediately wanted a V8 conversion. A friend had a 96 drive train and said the conversion could be done. Cradle in, motor in, Problem is the wiring harness in the 2000 will not plug into the 96 ecm/pcm. Is there an adaptor or what that I need to make this work, Any help would be appreciated.
Yeah, everything is swapped out. the wiring harness for the car and the ecm from the donor have the same ends. I believe female, need some type of adaptor.
What I found out from Ford Racing is I have to rewire the dash harness to match the ecm from the 96. wire colors may have changed so have to follow the wiring schematics in both service manuals. I will do this.
I've abandoned this project, just too many wiring issues. 2000 motor, trans etc going in.
