Re: 1998 gt rim question

You will need to buy a 17x9 inch wheel for the front. Those will lead to major turning issues on the front.

Re: 1998 gt rim question

My recommendation (and the one you will get from anyone on this site who actually knows tires) is at least a 255 width tire on a 8 inch wheel and at least a 295 width tire on a 10.5 inch wheel.

For reference I'm running a 275 width tire on a 9 inch wheel on the front and a 295 width tire on a 10 inch wheel on the back of my car. Going wider next time around on the back. 315 or bigger.

Re: 1998 gt rim question

Tires for 10.5 inch wheel are not cheap. If you cheap out on tires and buy something narrow you'll end up ruining the wheels....trust me...seen it done too many times.

Re: 1998 gt rim question

about $99 for sumitmos...that's what I paid for them...probably good for a stock 98 gt...but I'm regretting them as I get zero traction. I'll be getting mickey's in feb I believe.

Re: 1998 gt rim question

Those are the exact ones I have on my car right now...on 10.5" rims. I ordered them from there as well. Very quick shipping.

Yes...they will work and should work well for you...they are great in the rain. I have no traction, but I am also about 2-2.5 times more RWHP than you as well so no street tire is going to give me traction.

Re: 1998 gt rim question

18X10 5-114.3 24BM

put some 18's on the gt and liked it better than 17's so will a 315 rear tire still fit on this size rim?

this is the tire on going to use

315/35ZR17

.......................................................................................................................

If it doesn't fit what szie would work.....or could i run 17's and just throw some lower springs on the gt? what would you guys do?
