Re: headers?

Try not to get the hooker headers. While the price might look good, they really aren't all that quality of a header.

The best headers out there are Stainless Works, Kooks, and Americian Racing. However, each of those are going to run you about $850+ for just the headers. They are worth every penny though.

I just picked up a set of the Bassani Mid Length headers last night for my cobra. I've wanted those for a number of years. They aren't as expensive at around $650-700.

Keep in mind as well, that if you get anything other than shorty headers, you are going to need a new mid pipe as well.

Re: headers?

bbk is a great header and about $600 for the midpipe and headers, hookers fit like garbage.

Re: headers?

just looked at kooks, AM racing ans stainless steel i just crapped my pants wit the price but i really like the kooks and stainless stell headers i think if i save up for a couple of months, i should have enough to get the headers and a new mid pipe, but i just might get some bbk headers and when i get a new stang down the road ill get all the good stuff. debating right now but thanks for all the advice

Re: headers?

ehh you get what u pay for. long tubes would be the best for overall gains and sound wise, if you are going shortys, ford racing would be your affordable bet that has good quality.

Re: headers?

BBK is in the balance with me, Iwas sent a set of LT and were factory defect. Set them back and am waiting on a new set. Other than the defect they look like a good set.

Re: headers?

I was just at SK Speed this past weekend with my buddies, too bad I don't have a car lol and my buddies don't have cash.

It's right on 109, try checking right across the street, there is a terrific junk yard there, literally right across the street. I forget the name, I think it's Lakewood. We had just missed the junk yard they had closed right after we got there.

SK Speed has a terrific machine shop as well.

If you are going with the BBK long tubes, check out my pictures. The head pipe for the # 3 cylinder is restricted about 50% due to clearance for the steering shaft. I ordered a set and sent them back and thought they were defected, got the second set and the same thing. Called BBK and they assured me that it would not affect the performance, (yea right). Literally it was about 50 % restriction, check it out before you buy.
