tire question

would a 315/35/17 have the same side wall size as a 245/40/17

would 17 by 9 rim fit on a 245 size tire.

Re: tire question

1. No.

2. It will fit...I would not recommend running that narrow of a tire however. I'm running 275 width tires on my 9 inch wheels. At least go with a 255 at a minimum. Shoot for a 265 or bigger.

Re: tire question

so i should run a 255 in the front? im puttin 315 in back but i can't find tires that would have the same side wall lenths.

also so 315/35/17 in rear and 265/35/17 in front both sizes side walls would be the same size and wouldn't differ at all other than width of tire.

and am i able to run two different brands of tires one brand on front and another on rear?

Re: tire question

275/40/17 on a 9 inch wide rim, no smaller. A 245 looks horrible on a 9 inch wide rim.

In order to calculate sidewall just take the middle number as a percent and multiply it by the first, thats your answer. Every tire is different... regardless of what the number says. Some run wider some more narrow.

These tires will have close sidewall heights but more importantly will be the correct overall diameter. They will be the same as stock so your speedo will be correct. This is the set up I have on my car and I love it. 17x9 fronts and 17x10.5 in the rears.

Yes, you can run 2 brands. I have sumicrapmos on the back and nittos on the front right now.

What you can't do is mix radial tires with bias ply tires like wrinkle wall slicks. You can, but they don't play well together.

I just ordered Trey's Saleen rims and had them put the ZIII's on them, tell me that they are not that bad, or you have the ZII's.

They are great in the rain....they suck with 500+ lbs of torque.

I have these...they were $99 each when I bought them and I needed tires ASAP due to a magnetic pickup tool sticking to my current nittos.

Re: tire question

Cool, i hate those pickin up tools, they suck.
I don't think JR has enough jingles yet for the Kenne Bell yet, so we don't have to worry about that.
ordered the ZIII's
What have you heard about sub-frame connectors, how many hp's before you need them?

Subframes are a necessity IMO from the beginning. One of the 1st mods that needs to be done to a SN95 car.

Re: tire question

Thanks man, I guess I need to order two sets, I have two sn95 units. I just ordered 10” tire for the GT, and am putting the 9” wheels of the GT on the Cobra. I guess the full length is the best, which brand?

Re: tire question

Because the unibody design is not very solid and with twist and flex even with a V6.

Re: tire question

Tire size calculator

There you go all questions should be answered. I would check with the manufacturers specs as they are not always exactly what they calculate to be, especially Nitto's.
