alright so this past weekend i took a trip to the hobby shop on base to install my xpipe. So a job that should have only taken about an hour or so ended up taking 7 hours with 2 trips back. First thing to go wrong was a broken stud in the Drivers side header. finally got that one out after having to weld not one but TWO nuts to it and... a 15mm socket to it. So finally get to put the new pipes up and be on my way.... Not happening. so im driving for like 15 minutes and check engine
light comes on.. Bank one is running lean and bank two is something with the cats or something i forget. Back to the hobby shop i knew the problem was the bolts where not tight enough cause i could here the back firing and popping and ****ty *** sound they made. the main leak was right off the passenger side header. and the nuts where stripped to hell finnaly get one of them off by beating a 9/16 on to it and backing it out with a breaker bar. now the next nut.... SNAP broke a stud. so now i only have one bolt and a much smaller and not as noticable leak stil from the pass side.
two options which where given to me by the mechanics that were there helping.
Muffler puddy which is like $6 for the little jar which would be more than enough.
taking it to the dealer who said he would get it extracted for $50 plus the replacement stud and nut.
what should i do.
also since i dont have the cats any more do i need to the the mil eliminators or should i be alright with out them? (since this is what the post was supposed to be about.)
