coolant problem......AGAIN!!

What's up guys. When I was walking to my car this afternoon I saw a big green puddle under the engine of my car, what a bummer . I looked under the hood and under the front of my car. I found out that my radiator is leaking! So, what's a good place to buy a radiator?

+1 decide if an engine build is in your future (aka not just a rebuild but a buildup) if so then go with an aftermarket one else just buy one with a warranty. The install is pretty darn easy but you can pay a shop to do it if you dont have the time.

A cheaper alternative could be to take it to a repair shop, there are usually shops that mend/repair radiators for a lot less than the cost of a new one - that's what several smaller shops do when customers don't want to spend for a new one..

Re: coolant problem......AGAIN!!

it also depends on what the damage is, if the side is busted open you cant do anything with it really

^ acutally now they can repair side tanks, and even replace them if their plastic. Sometimes it's worth it if your rad. is overly expensive

Re: coolant problem......AGAIN!!

The big question is how much they are going to charge you to "repair" your radiator. Radiators are not that expensive. I got a brand new 3-row copper radiator a couple years ago for my car for $150. As for a good place to guy them, check out Summit Racing - High Performance Car and Truck Parts | 800-230-3030. You can also check at your local auto parts store. I got mine at O'Reilley's. At the time, it was a really popular radiator with the 5.0 guys because of the cheap price and improved cooling over stock.
