Unhappy Ported Supercharger Trouble

I had my supercharger ported about a year ago and now i'm noticing that my car is smoking when the supercharger is pushing. I also have noticed some oil in the mass air. I know this can't be good, but how bad is it??

Re: Ported Supercharger Trouble

What kind of car is this? I'm guessing 03/04 cobra?

If so, oil in the intake is common. I took about 2-3 cups of oil out of mine when I ported my blower. IT is caused by the ****ty PCV setup we have. There are 3 solutions to this problem:

1: Buy a check valve to install on the driver side PCV line to properly control back pressure that is pushing the oil out of the passenger side head.
2: Build/buy an oil catch can to install inline with the driver and passenger side PCV systems to catch oil being pushed out of the heads.
3: Buy JLT Pre-filters for both your passenger and driver side heads.

Or you can combine any of the above options. I did #3 and when I took my blower off again last weekend, there was zero oil in the intake track at all.

I'm using the catch can method, blower will come off here in the next few weeks and we shall see how she did. Bad part is I do not know how long the car was ran without one. It definitely works though...

Re: Ported Supercharger Trouble

you set up a "catch can"... essentially like a cup that collects the oil before it can build up.
