Auto shifting early, please help...

Hi folks, long time reader, first time writer here. My problem is this, I have a 2000 mustang gt automatic with 3.90 gears, some bolt ons and a predator tuner. Under wide open throttle, my car shifts way to early, at about 4900 rpm. From videos i have seen on youtube, i know automatic mustangs of my generation shift about 5600 to 5800 rpm, so i dont know what is wrong with my car. I have tried changing the shift points on the predator, but this doesnt change anything, which leads me to believe its not the computer but something mechanical causing the problems. Could my transmission be low on fluid or something? Any help would be appreciated.

I know my auto 00 use to shift at or around those points before I used a predator tuner to change it to 5950 WOT. I would defiantly check the fluid level while its running on the transmission.

With the vehicle running put it through all the gears with your foot on the brake, this should let fluid move everywhere it needs to be. While it is still running and in park get out and check the transmission fluid. Sounds to me like you may be slightly low, this would definitely cause the issue.

+1 check the fluid and get back with us, a fresh fluid change can do wonders as you should technically do that every year to 20k miles
