Intake Manifold Question.

Can a '99 Mustang GT intake manifold for the 4.6 SOHC engine be used (With or without modification) on a '98? If modification is required, what is involved?
Thanks.

Re: Intake Manifold Question.

Why yes it can...

Remember, I work for Thanks (lower right hand corner of this post)
(and just so we're clear, you want the 01-03 Intake (the one American Muscle sells)... it has an aluminum crossover that is better than the one that came on the 99-00)

Re: Intake Manifold Question.

Thanks for your quick response. Just what I was looking for.

Is there a difference between the 2001-2004 mainfold and the 1999-2000 manifold?

Re: Intake Manifold Question.

no difference, u will need to keep your aluminum coolant crossover at the front of your intake to install on the pi intake. the pi only uses one coolant sensor as the npi uses 2, its only 4 bolts at the bottom and use silicone when installing on the pi intake. expect a gain of 10-15 hp, u will see the ports are alot smaller with the nonpi verses the pi.

as was mentioned... you will most definitely want the 01-03 for the aluminum crossover. AmericanMuscle has the one you want for $195 shipped... that's pretty damn cheap man.
clicky me
there's no point in buying an inferior product when you're talking about $200 for the better one. Save yourself the headache

Re: Intake Manifold Question.

he is gonna need his aluminum crossover off his npi intake because that crossover for the pi only has a place for one coolant sensor, but our cars have 2. it just swaps over. he can buy that intake, just have to reuse his crossover, i did
