tech school question

Im 18 and just graduated high school and I'm interested in going to tech school to be a mechanic...I live in PA near Philadelphia. I was looking at schools and was wondering about your opinions of schools in the area. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

ive heard some are good and some are POS money scams to get all your money and dont help you learn squat... so be very careful who you give your money to.

I had heard that too but i also heard mixed things about some other schools that seemed to have good reputations, like Lincoln Tech. Thanks for the help I just wanted to see what your general opinions were

Re: tech school question

Lincoln Tech is a crock of ****

they told me it was 21K for a 15 month program, 15 months is not long enough to teach you how to properly use the machines, teach you each different system on a car, and how the systems are different per car, or anything of the sort

i have a friend who went through Lincoln Tech, and still comes to me for car help

They teach you the basics. The rest of it you have to learn with experience. When I was in the military I was taught how to be an aircraft mechanic in 6 months. I guarantee that if they can do that then you can learn to work on a car in 15 months.

Re: tech school question

Lincoln Tech does well. I plan on going when I finally goto tech school. They have a 93% placement or something like that. The guy said the only reason it wasn't 100 was because some kid just never went...

Be careful anyways though.
