Well, offer is on the table and we can adjust our time table to match everyone else. Hopefully I have the car fixed by then, if not, I'm going anyhow.

Re: Tupelo Mustang Cruise - March 13th

as long as we leave friday afternoon Robin and I are game. I'm fine with driving straight there or stopping in Jackson. If you want a vote I say all the way friday night, but doesn't matter to me.

Jackson is a decent drive and there's a club there (8-10 cars) that will be leaving Jackson sat morning and driving up as a group. Tiff and I will most likely be in Tupelo that friday so ya'll do what ya want.

Jackson is only about 2 1/2 hours away, but I think I am going to find a hotel in Tupelo. Not sure is I want to drive back to Jackson Sat. night after event. Get up Sunday and drive the trace back to Jackson.

Re: Tupelo Mustang Cruise - March 13th

Rick - I had no intensions of driving back to jackson saturday night. The thought of staying in Jackson was just for friday night to cruise up with the other club and then stay in Tupelo saturday night.

Either way, I fine with whatever. If we drive straight there we can meet up with Brad and Tiff when we get there.

Rob that sounds like a good idea, I did not think about that. That would make for a shorter trip Fri. after work.

Re: Tupelo Mustang Cruise - March 13th

I email the admin of the Living Legends Mustang club in Jackson to ask where they would meet up for the start of the cruise. Just to get an idea about places to stay.

This is the info as of now:
-----
Our Meeting location will more than likely
be at:

PF Changs at
Renaissance At Colony
1000 Highland Colony Parkway
Ridgeland, MS 39157-2079

They do have the Hyatt Place Jackson/Ridgeland there at the Renaissance,
and several more hotels not too far nearby. Before you lock anything in,
hit me up, there are some places you WONT want to stay.

Another Safe and good location is the Holiday Inn Express at Trustmark
Park off I-20 in Pearl. Only about 10-15 from the Renaissance but safer,
cleaner and ALOT of food choices. It is next to the Bass Pro.

Re: Tupelo Mustang Cruise - March 13th

We need to have a meeting of the minds between everyone that is going to kind of nail down what we are doing.

I am going to get in touch with Gabe and see when he's available and then the five of us (Gabe, Rick, Nate, Louis, Myself) can set a time to get together for lunch or dinner or something and hash out our plans.

Re: Tupelo Mustang Cruise - March 13th

hmm if money allows, i would LOVE to go! but idk about showing my car with it being a slightly-modded V6... a cruise sounds fun though. i'll see what i can do about work and see if my fiance would be able to ride out there with me... all the plans kinda seem different between everyone, i'd like to ride out with some fellow MEers... think it would be nice. so who would be meeting up where, etc?

Re: Tupelo Mustang Cruise - March 13th

That's what we are going to figure out. We are definitely leaving on friday. What we need to figure out is what time are we leaving friday, where are we meeting up, and how far are we driving on friday.

We are all cruising out as a group for sure...so...see what you can do for coming and let us know any special circumstances you have like not being able to leave before a certain time on friday or anything like that.

You're good to go there because Louis (hottcobra) can't leave before 3 as he just started a new job recently and shouldn't really be taking time off for play yet. So, it was thought to maybe meet up and leave at 4.

Either way, check into your side of things and let us know so we can confer with you before setting any definitive plans. :elephant:

Re: Tupelo Mustang Cruise - March 13th

There is a cruise. It's a cruise in car show where several car clubs will be cruising into a town for a show and socializing.

Right now there are 5 cars cruising from here, 6 if you are able to come. If we meet up with the jackson guys, there will be 10-15 more cars cruising up to tupelo.

None the less, there will be our group, some members from alabama, and some from Miss and Tenn all from evolution that will be getting together in Tupelo.

Then, on the way back, we are going to cruise down through the trace. I can't tell you what that is exactly, but, I've seen a lot of car groups like to make that cruise. I know Rick suggested we do that as well. So, yes, there will be a cruise as well as a show.

Re: Tupelo Mustang Cruise - March 13th

you have to be in the show to do the cruise, right?

i'm just not comfortable putting my car in a big mustang show. the little shows around here are fine, but i would be bigtime underdog there.. lol

Re: Tupelo Mustang Cruise - March 13th

No, the cruise will be seperate from the show.

I'm a bigtime underdog in a show as well due to the paint issues on my car...I'm not going for the show, more for looking at the other cars, checking out the museum, and socializing with the rest of the mustang world.

My car will be in the show tho...but that's totally up to you. For $5, why not? At least that way you can go ahead and park right along with the rest of the evolution crew and we can represent as best we can.

Yup. About 6-6.5 hours.

But, it may get broken up into two parts meeting up with a group in Jackson.

It's not as bad as it seems though....it'll go buy relatively quick.

Could be worse, in September we drove to Buffalo and Lake George NY for a get together. lol

It is the Natches Trace (Natches Indian trail), it is only 2 lane but a very scenic route. Great for just cruising along. It runs buy the Ross Barrnet Reservoir.

Like you I don't have a problem driving 6-7 hours, but we can probally break the trip going home Sunday by stopping to eat or something.

well, looks like i have the time off of work.. and my fiance approved but he has to make sure he isn't on call that weekend or if he is that someone can take his call outs.

About the longest single day trip I drove was from Raleigh, NC to here a few years ago. Road trip to watch the local hockey team in North and South Carolina.

Re: Tupelo Mustang Cruise - March 13th

The trace is a very nice ride.

Like I warned rob though, do not speed on the trace. It is a federal road and subject to federal fines and federal officers to deal with. They do not play. It's still faster from jackson to tupelo on the trace than any of the highways that lead that direction, I've made a trip more time than I can count.

For everyone who is not wanting to be in the show....if you are going to be driving that far you might as well be in the show. I know the $5 isn't an issue lol. The meal that night should be the highlight of the day as it is a catered event with a guest speaker.

do the show... clean your car as good as you can then do the drive and go over it with detailer and let it be, no worries. you will regret not entering it if you drive all that way.
