330 FT = 6.1804
1/8 ET = 9.1896
1/8 MPH = 81.54

I thought total track time included the time it took the car to break the line? So does it not start counting until the car breaks the first sensor?

So if you had a time of say, 10.00, with a reaction time of 1.00, the time it actually took your car to get down the track would be 9.00, right? Or would have been 10.00 because it doesn't include the reaction time?

Nope, it still took 10.00 to get down the track. Your elapsed time doesn't start until you leave the line and trip the lights. You can actually sit at the line for 10 seconds after the green light, and still run a 9 second ET.

Looks like you need some drag radials to bring that 60ft down...

Re: Huntsville Midnight Madness...

Well than that means it must go on a diet. I must remove the front bumper and headlights, the rear bumper, the sub box, the spare tire, my pens, the glove box, the door panels, the steering wheel (I can drive using the steering knuckle), XM radio, cd's, my T ball bat, air freshener, and the tailights.

I will then go on a diet of no food and water for 3 days prior to going to the track, have my colon cleansed, wear shorts and no shoes, shave my head that way I'm more aerodynamic, bring only my single car key and leave all the others at home, and go with no underwear.

I'll make 8's by God!

Re: Huntsville Midnight Madness...

I have read a thread where they kept stripping the car until they had a frame only and then started to cut crap from that as well.

Re: Huntsville Midnight Madness...

or better yet.... make your car a vacume, wear a small air tank and pump it full of helium! as well as the tires of course.

Re: Huntsville Midnight Madness...

That won't work b/c the car isn't able to hold air in a vacuum.

Re: Huntsville Midnight Madness...

A vacume when discussing gas is defined as "A space in which the pressure is significantly lower than atmospheric pressure."

If you pump it FULL of helium, it's got not lower than atmospheric pressure, is it?

Re: Huntsville Midnight Madness...

Well this is the serious list of things I'll be doing to make it into the 8's this saturday.
Take out my sub and box=40lbs.
Take out spare tire and jack=what was it 27 lbs?
A few unneccessary things = 5lbs.
Putting in a radiator additive that actually does work, seriously.
Putting in octane booster, kidding.
And work on my launch.
I'll shave that .17 secs by God!

Re: Huntsville Midnight Madness...

You'd be even lighter if you could just pump all the air out, even helium has mass.

^ Seriously.

So if you're going to make it a "vacume" then leave it as one.

Re: Huntsville Midnight Madness...

In all seriousness, though. Have you thought about changing out the cam, Dark? I don't know anything about blue oval sixers (like how many cams, OHV or OHC, anything), but it would probalby respond pretty well to a forced induction cam.

Yeah, I'm waiting to do things that require taking apart the engine until I have a back up car. I'm sure it would help tho. SOHC, BTW.
