Hahaha yeah I am this is my 5th year in a row. It starts Thanksgiving day and ends on Sunday. Its sooooooooooooooooooo fun. I love going. They have all kinds of cars... Classic, hot rods, lifted trucks, and lots of stangs plus they have a huge swap meet which is cool. I'll take some good pics this year. Check it out. HomeFree

Re: Daytona Turkey Rod Run

Go to hotels.com most people stay at the main drag. I cant remember the name of the street. But after everyone leaves the track they go to the winn-dixie parking lot.... it is packed out and road blocks everywhere....Omgosh there are so many freaking people and cars. Its so cool. Really I recommend to anyone this is a bad@$$ event. Thats why its my 5th year going I wouldnt miss it for anything. We always stay right on the beach.

Hold up, is this over the Thanksgiving Holiday?

If so I'd be interested in going. I'm off work that entire week.

Re: Daytona Turkey Rod Run

Eh, I really don't need to be gone for Thanksgiving. I really don't think I could get motivated to drive that far after driving home all the way from Texas either.

Plus I'd have to be home before Sunday, cause I gotta be back out here on Monday morning. So basically... you guys are gonna be down there for way too damn long.

Re: Daytona Turkey Rod Run

No we'd be going through ATL which would probably be worse.

I was just giving a comparison to time.

Re: Daytona Turkey Rod Run

Well, its not much further south of there, so I doubt it would take longer than 12 as long as we don't hit a lot of traffic

Re: Daytona Turkey Rod Run

We got stuck on I-75 for at least 3 hours.

They had to shut down the entire interstate because someone got killed in a bad wreck

That's what happened here too which is why I was stuck on I-12 for 2 hours just 10 miles from home. Both directions were on lockdown and I was between exits with no turnaround.
