We don't really put PTO in ahead of time. Even if I did, it really wouldn't matter. I have 1200 hours worth of work that has to be done between now and the first of August. Some of it will probably be split up and given to someone else, but even still... that's a pretty big effort in a tiny-*** time frame.

Sometimes I think our high-level management thinks we are demi-gods.

Well, the thing is I can't really get started on it until the middle of May. We are supposed to have the requirements on... you guessed it, May 18th.

I may be able to go ahead and take off anyway. I've just got to wait until a little bit closer to that time and talk to my supervisor. The requirements may not actually even be done then... that's just when they are supposed to be done.

na its not that they just don't know how to correctly estimate and manage their resources well, its very hard to do in the software game as its quite complex and constantly changing.

I am going to have to make two trips back to back. There is a mustang show on the 12th of May via the Rocket City Mustang Club.

Re: Cabin Retreat - Joe Wheeler State Park - May 18-20

What time and where are we going to meet up in Birmingham. I was thinking it might be wise to meet up on 20/59 (maybe in Bessmer, Al at Town and Country Ford (they have a ton of nice stangs for sale)) and then drive through the junction of 65 and 20/59 in Birmingham to avoid some of the traffic. It can get kind of bad and I am pretty sure your route will take you right by where I am talking about.

Who all is going to be coming through Birmingham?

It will be me, kyle, Brad, and then herb will be staying over in B-Ham...and possibly fast64 I believe.

Since you are in the area, figure out a spot, and we will meet up there. Let's say 12:00-1:00 as a planned meeting time. We might be there earlier depending on traffic.

Re: Cabin Retreat - Joe Wheeler State Park - May 18-20

I am contemplating a way for us to avoid the Birmingham rush traffic that seems to be amplified on Fridays. I have attached a map of Town and Country Ford in Bessmer, Al. It is exit 108 on 20/58. I think its the first exit past where you turn to get on interstate 459.

Are you all going to be comming down this interstate or will it be out of your way to get on this interstate? I am not sure how you will be comming into Birmingham. I know rush hour can be rather bad up until you hit the junction point for 65 and 20/59. After the Junction it can be bad but generally its not to terrible. It clears back up in few mile and then its smooth sailing.

This might be the best bet to keep everyone together so no one gets lost and we attempt to avoid traffic. Unless there is a wreck on 20/59 or perhaps 65 we should be ok.

Give me a route of how you will be entering Birmingham? Herb you can PM me or reply here about where you will be, it is pretty easy to find the ford dealership I am talking about.

Re: Cabin Retreat - Joe Wheeler State Park - May 18-20

Yea thats the right path, Bessemer is very close to Hoover, if you take 459 hoover is exit 12~ (459 starts right off 59) Bessemer would be a good place to stay and you could travel up 459 to hoover and look around, its a nice place... with malls and such (exit 19 is hwy 280 and there is a nice mall there) but im sure you wont care for that crap, just an FYI.

It is 1 and a half hours from Birmingham to exit 351 (Athens) (about what it will be to Huntsville time wise) if traffic is not bad. I would expect us to be at Brents or somewhere near there in about two hours once we get going unless there is a traffic accident or something holding the progress.

Just to be safe lets say we dont leave Birmingham till 1 pm that will put us near Brents at 3-3:30.

Yea, it just depends on traffic and ... being a Friday it can vary. We should get through before it gets very bad.

Herb if you need anymore information on stuff to go do PM me or call me. Search for the Summit Mall or the Galleria mall in Hoover for mall and shopping information.
