Re: Anyone from Connecticut??

I'm from CT just joined here today, I have a 95 but might be moving on to another stang soon, I live in Newington and every saturday during the Summer they hold shows at a Burger King on the Berlin Turnpike. It gets a good turnout and usually any where from 1/4 to 1/2 of the cars will be Mustangs but all of them are usually nice and always American. It's run by a Mopar club but they welcome anything that's american and not beaten looking (my cars not allowed lol)

Re: Anyone from Connecticut??

Ok I have to say I really do not like the state of CT with their emission laws here. I tried to put my 88 fox body thru emission today and they could not even complete the test. They tried it twice and the system said the reading were so off they could not even give me a fail sheet. The worse part is this would be the last emission test for this car forever in CT since the next time it is due it will be 25 years old.
I have high flow cats on it but I guess the supercharger is really making it off. The guy even tried to not make to much or any boost on the roller test. I set the timing and all still could not get even a fail.
So long story short I guess I have to find a set of stock cats and put them on and go that way and keep my fingers crossed I guess. At this point I would be happy with even a fail sheet and just dont go back for a re test then when my reg is up in two years it will be exempt.

Any suggestions from other in CT with tricks or something I dont know with our lovely laws here.

Thank You

I feel for you. I am from Southbury,CT. I left when I was 17 and have been in the great state of Texas. Only suggestion I have is find a not so reputable shop.

Re: Anyone from Connecticut??

Yea I am going to try it again tomorrow at another shop for sure I think the place I went had no clue to be honest. All I want is even a fail sheet and I can still get it registered and drive it for 2 years like that.

I use to live in El Paso or about 6 years of my child days, my step father was in the army and stationed their. I do miss the area just not getting beat up by some of the mexican kids that didnt like me the white biy they use to call me LOL.

I'll get some pics up soon. Got everything on Facebook though.
Yeah, Stafford is April 10th.
Don't know about Compounce...you got the date?
The best event is the LMMC Spring Cruise - 80+ Stangs last year.

I think the official announcement for the cruise date and route is supposed to
be tomorrow.

Re: Anyone from Connecticut??

May 1st is the lake compounce meet I saw it posted on another site. I plan to drive this Mustang since the last few I never drove to try and keep miles down and very busy at work.
It was due to get a tune and dyno run this week but i put it off until it gets a little warmer. A friend of ours has a speed shop in Milford with a full dyno set up. I a going to be selling my front race seats if you know anyone looking I am due to pick up my new factory seats tomorrow.

Mine is no daily driver either....got a beat up '95 Cherokee for the daily grind.
Stang only comes out on weekends and special occasions.
Waiting for the temps to hit 70 so I can add a few touches that require 3M mounting tape!!

I hope I am wrong but we all may be waiting a while for 70 around here. I commute past your way all the time. I own a const company and have one office in NY the other in east haven. So I have a couple of daily drivers myself I do about 70k miles a year. I keep the daily driver work cars to 200k and donate them to the kids for cancer each time.
I just did a coupke of const project in Norwalk over the winter.

Is that residential or commercial?
I spent 12 years in the commercial storefront field. (Kawneer)
Fabrication of storefront and curtainwall, doors etc.
Commercial Construction all went away by 2009 and the rebound
is slow. Funny, I bought the car mere months before the economy
completely tanked. I remember a couple of months after I bought the
car Ford started giving away free stock shares with a purchase of any vehicle,
which at the time was pretty much not worth anything.
All I got at the time was a great rate and free keychain though.
And my Dealer was one that ended up closing.

We do only commercial work all private work only also. I dont bother with public work at all. I have had many storefront systems installed with Kawneer for sure you may have even done some for me at on time maybe. I have to say I have been kind of lucky latel with construction we have been staying steady not crazy busy like we like but enough to keep all the guys working.

Funny you say that about the Ford dealers around here most of them are gone and just big empty lots. So this week I wanted to buy two new work trucks Ford products only. So I drive all the way to berlin dealer and they had two 2010 left over box trucks sitting their. After and hour with them I offered to buy them both cash for a price each. They onlt would take off 250.00 after rebates from the sticker price. I even said the the sales guy did you leave a zero off that 250.00 he said no that is all the room we have and I walked out the door. I could not figure this out for the life of me.

So long story short I drove to PA yeasterday and bought two trucks from a dealer their that had them on their lot.
