Houston things to do

Well, it appears that the fiancee and I are going to be seeing a couple redsox games this year in houston in July. Anyone have any suggestions on things to do while I'm in town there? Never been to houston...

This is going to be July 1, 2, and 3rd I believe.

Its going to be hot as hell, but im sure you know that. Downtown in a pretty nice area. They have tons of places to eat. Of course you have the Houston Zoo, the Aquarium of Houston (good food here, kinda expensive). Tons of stuff to do in Houston. To bad they shut down six flags down a few years ago. You could always make a trip to Waco.

and BTW go Yankees. LOL

Being from Baton Rouge, it won't be too bad. Warm, but better than snow.

The fiancee is governor of redsox nation for louisiana...I'll pass along your feelings. (I'm a Mets fan, so that's fun to bring up '86 periodically.)

Re: Houston things to do

Ahhhh i see. The mets should be pretty decent this year, that is if they dont lose the last 30 games of the season.

I lived in Houston for a few years. I go back about once a month to visit family. Not a bad place to visit, but i hated living there.

You're asking an awful lot there...that's usually a guarantee...specially if they are in the hunt or in the lead.

As odd as it sounds, being from western NY originally, the only major league stadium I've ever been in has been Fenway. So, it will be nice to see another stadium.

Get mugged? Buy some drugs?

Ok, I'm kidding. Houston is nice... well North Houston, but some downtown areas are ok. Do not pay to go to their aquarium. It's approximately 5 mins long and the only interesting thing is the White Tiger (yes, at an aquarium).

Agreed, I moved from outside of Syracuse NY in the middle of nowhere to Charlotte, NC's biggest city....Every day is a living hell until I graduate from college...

Really? Where abouts outside of Syracuse? I grew up about an hour away from there...in the middle of no where...more cows than people...and now in baton rouge where a 5 mile commute takes 40-50 minutes every day.

We are from a town called Altmar, it's closest town that most people know from Syracuse is Watertown.
