My event isn't until sept. 19th. I just went to the one you did to check it out.
You can see my tremor in a bunch of peoples videos from that day....it's amusing.

ahh gotcha. I thought your event happened this past weekend for some reason. They are really relaxed. And judging by most people who go to the West event, you'll probably have one of the faster cars lol.

Certainly in the rookie school they are forcing me to take....what a waste of new racing slicks.

What was your other wheel set up that you had before? Wasn't it like R888s? I forgot the sizes though. Do you still have those?

What size wheel was that 265 R888 on? Thats a fairly big bulge. Are the new ones 9"?

It would be a shame to waste those glorious new R-comp's, parading around the track.
I would use street tires until I was completely confident that I was as fast as I could be on them.
Your car will stick like never before on the R-comps! You will be, basically, "over-driving" the car on them, compared to the street tires, to make good use of them. It sometimes takes some getting used to, to be able to comfortably drive at that pace.

8 1/2"'s and 11's for the 888s.
Same size tire as my BFG's were and they fit perfect....these tires obviously run wide.

The race wheels are all 10's.

Yeah the new wheels and tires have amazing fitment. I tried test fitting my 10" up front. They fit, aside from hitting the sway bar on full lock. But i guess on a track i would never hit full lock.

2 decades of driving a stock car has me at a slight advantage I think.

That's what I'm saying!

Haha.
I have no doubt about your driving ability Sal. I was just commenting about you saying that the rookie school may be a "waste of new racing slicks".
I would feel the same way, and would choose to use street tires rather than the expensive R-comps.

I can't tell from the photo if those tires have been heat cycled, or not, but this may be a good opportunity to cycle them if they haven't been. Then they will be ready for a good beating at the next track day.

Yeah, they are heat cycled. I don't wanna burn up my streets doing this.
They cost more than the slicks!

Not when you do the dollar per mile calculation.
And the fact that they usually "cycle" out, before they wear out.

I used to autocross with a guy who drove 100 miles, round trip, to the track and back, in his Vette, on Hoosiers!
Lol.

I think I may just be a tight wad...

Probably won't have a chance to use these up before winter comes.
Spring time always brings fresh tires.

Any suggested shops to do suspension work in the bay area? Suggestions on coilover setup. I was thinking of bagging but I really don't want to spend that much money. I think I asked this before, sorry for repeating.

I'm going to NextGen in Hayward tomorrow to get my suspension work done. Just a basic Spring/Shocks and Strut work though

Did you setup an appt. with them? Did you buy suspension from them or bringing your own?

NorCal Mustangs

Yeah I called a few weeks ago and set up an appointment for today and I got all my parts from AM.

He did manage to squeeze me in without an appt a few months ago when I got my headers installed but I'm sure that was because someone didn't show up

Almost forgot he's doing the control arms and panhard bar as well

I'm most likely going to go coilovers just not sure what company to go with. Most likely BMR panhard bar and LCA.

Its extremely common for the strut mounts to fall apart when taking them out.

Btw I have my Flowmaster Outlaws for sale. Want $200 o.b.o for them. Can put pics up later

And I've been having this weird rattling noise that sounds like it's coming from the rear end pretty sure it has to do with the catback that was installed. Should I take it back to the shop or is this normal? It only happens when I'm in drive not neutral or park
