Kind of A Weird Question

I'm looking for either or, or both of the blue Ford oval and the Mustang tri-pony. Here's the catch it has to be smaller then say... half an inch on the longest side.

I haven't done much searching but I'm sure someone here has come across to something close.

What I need it for is my car key isn't from Ford and I would like to put the emblem(s) on. I'm thinking even the keychains you can pick up seem to big.

Also any of you ever get a spare key made (with Chip) or is there an easier way to program one, or get a blanked chip key?

Here's a not so weird answer.

Next car show or swap meet you go to, but a lapel pin of what you want from one of the booths.

That, or try ebay? Ebay should have everything under the sun.

Re: Kind of A Weird Question

Not to many swap meets near me. Most of the Mustang owners here are ****** bags too. Maybe I just haven't looked for them hard enough, or when the weather gets a little nicer.

I haven't really checked eBay. I still have to try that.

Re: Kind of A Weird Question

This is what I've got to so far:

Small *** logos - I don't think they exist. I'm the current high bidder for a lot of 12 Ford oval keychains which will take up nearly my whole key.

I did pick up 3 more key fobs shipped for less then 18 bucks. Also on eBay.

Programming new keys and fobs are instructed in the owner's manual.

Since I only have one programmed key however I cannot get a spare key and program it myself since I need the two keys to program a third or more (up to eight). I have to go to the dealership now to get that second key. Now eBay sells many blank key and fobs for Ford, actually quite a few with the Ford logo, but it seems that these won't work due to a different PATS system? Can someone confirm this? It would be nice though because I can pick up a few of these and have some really nice keys.

Anyone want to go in on buying a 100 lot of Ford Blue Oval logo keys and new key fobs (sn95 style)?

Still looking for some cool small logos I guess.

The key lots were like 600 bucks for a hundred.

Yes you do, and most of the dealers will charge you anywhere from 0.5hr labor to 1 full hour labor rate to program the key that takes them about 5 mins. (Thats how I make a living)!!

If only you were in Louisiana I might could help you out and program it for free for you!

BTW $6.00 a key really isn't bad, but you will still need to have them cut and a way of getting the key code if you really want to make some profit.

Re: Kind of A Weird Question

Yeah that's why I'm finding it pretty useless to get a second programmed key (although I know I should have one).

Perhaps if I'm ever in LA I can stop by SaleenFiend? I appreciate the offers though anyways.

While broken down that $600 isn't bad, but I still have no need for 100 keys I mean I could just take 'em to Ace to get cut and sell them off as extra keys and do the ignition programming myself. I also don't know if those will work with the SN95 or just 05+ (Mustang wise anyway). What am I thinking? I wasn't even serious. I was just surprised to see a lot of 100 keys on eBay

There was a locksmith right around the block from me too bad they are no longer there I have to find a new one.

I found another lot of Ford keychain logos on eBay so I picked those up. They might just barely fit onto my key. We'll find out soon.

Re: Kind of A Weird Question

I received the keychains and fobs together yesterday rubber-band-ed together. I got all excited.

The fobs literally took 45 seconds to install. Extra 15 seconds because I left my original fob on the key and had to search for it during programming amongst my other keys dangling from the ignition.

As for the Ford keychains.... no bueno. They are just slightly bigger then they key. So now I have them attached to my fobs and keys. I have 7 more I don't know what to do with
