Re: family?

in my town, there are a TON of mustangs. I would be willing to bet by looking at most of them that the owners are not 'enthusiasts' but simply someone who happened to purchase a mustang. Almost 90% of every one I see is still bone stock and even during our occasional week long decent weather streaks they are filthy dirty. Very few take pride in their mustang, and the ones that do are members of our local car board and have put tons of money into either styling, performance, or both. Unfortunately, most of the guys there are v8 or cobra guys and still wont acknowledge me and my little sixxer even with my board decal on the rear window. C'est la vie. I am way too old to be concerned about whether or not someone waves back or nods or whatever.

^^^Well, it could be that you can probably keep up, if not toast most of the GT guys.

Re: family?

I've met a lot of mustang guys..

The only ones I run into that suck are the guys running at the track, bragging their car up and down, refusing to acknowledge you when you try and talk to them, etc -

(Only maybe one in 5 mustang guys at the track...) but there's always at least one there - on the street or at meets/etc I've only met friendly guys.. v6/GT or better..

Funny thing is I walked one of those 'bad' ones with my buick.. I had a 2.3 60' and his excuse was he had a bad launch (2.0)

Re: family?

I took a cruise Sunday morning out to Montauk Point with a bunch of Cobra owners. They all made my car look like crap they were so nice but they were the nicest bunch of guys I've ever met.

Re: family?

Silver and black bullit rims and an NCPD shield on the windshield. I'm running chokemasters on mine for now. My buddy has an Mineral Grey '02 GT with O/R pipe and Bassani Exhaust and the car just sounds sick.

pretty much how it is here, i see some old lady driving a bran new gt500, i've seen a black cobra (94-98) that drives around a lot, but i think they jsut bought these cars, there is a roush mustang up by the college, but the guy doesn't seem to really car about the car, just that its flashy, sounds good and fast. I've only met a couple of people that liked or even cared about the car, and that was cause of a member on here, even thats a good hour away.

I think people around here just buy them to say they have a mustang, jsut cause it sounds cool, but i never see anyone nodding or anything, pretty much everyone around is here doesn't seem to be that cool or give a crap about ne one else or thing

Haven't heard Bassani w/o the O/R, plus I believe he has LT headers, but it's a sick sound.

Re: family?

lol i guess im the only one whos been lucky enough to only meet cool people who drive stangs. every light i get too with a stang around me, they rev, i rev, they look like wow thats loud, we smile, give the thumbs up and drive away. If it ever comes to talking everyone i talked to is mad cool.
i only met one guy at my speedshop who was a tad big cocky. we really didnt pay him any attention. he was nice though, just cocky about his kennybell supercharger lol

i guess stang owners in Long island/queens are pretty cool!
