Prototype Mustang II

If the general consensus here is like most other mustang enthusiasts, your not fond of the mustang II's. I, on the other hand, actually love them

While looking around on the net i came across this prototype pic of the mustang II from 1970. I actually like this one. The long front end, stubby tail, flattened back window, etc. Just thought i would share.

They def. had there problems. Style being the biggest one to most people. Water based paint, a vibrating piece of 4 cylinder, bumber covers that liked to "fall off", etc. But they were also ahead of the time as far as american cars go. One of the first small sports cars, the first american metric engine, first power assisted rack & pinion car. First mustang to win car of the year award, etc. And it has turned out that 3 of the years are in the top 10 for most mustangs sold for any year. No mustang has sold more in a single year since 1980. But i understand where you are coming from, been hearing that since i had my 77 Its all personal preference.

Re: Prototype Mustang II

well the front suspension is the setup that most hot rodders use on their street rods.
