Fuel Help Needed ASAP!!!

Due to my mechanic being a complete ******.... which he always gives an excuse to come over to fix my car. I need help from the Tech savy guys.

My 99 WILL start which leads me to believe that the fuel pump and fuel filter are ok... the car runs for about 5 minutes then completely shuts off and will not start again. Then I can come back the next day and on the first try it will start up.

Now this makes me believe that it is some sensor that has gone bad because once it gets heated up from being started, the electronic shuts off all fuel to the motor and I get absolutely NO fuel.

For those guys that have the knowledge, which sensor is this. My retarded mechanic, which I am going to get my money back, has a code Reader like the ones in Autozone so I can figure that out but he is a moron and says " Sorry can't come over my dog is sick, I'll come by tomorrow". Never shows up.

So does anyone know what sensor is cutting off my fuel or does anyone have a Code Diagnostics reader that I can borrow to pull up the codes and find out. I just replaced the transmission so my car is FINALLY able to drive again once I get this problem fixed. Thanks!!

Chris

Re: Fuel Help Needed ASAP!!!

sounds like the relay or the pump itself is overheating and cutting out.

you can monitor your fuel pressure to see if it starts to go out of spec before it does to clue you into a fuel issue

Re: Fuel Help Needed ASAP!!!

I have to agree, check your fuel pressure while idling/driving for any sudden drops in pressure

Re: Fuel Help Needed ASAP!!!

well if you do lose fuel pressure and that's what's killing the motor. I've seen pumps over heat and die, and I've seen fuel pump relays over heat and die.

Relays can be had at a cheap price. Replace it for the hell of it and see if it fixes it. If not and you are losing fuel pressure then the pump is the only thing I can imagine.

Re: Fuel Help Needed ASAP!!!

Where do I find the pump replay switch?? I will go ahead and replace that right now to rule that out. But I don't believe that it will shut off when it gets hot.
