Convertible fender braces

I would like to remove the after market Monte Carlo bar from my 66 conv. and replace it with the original bars. They share a bolt with the export braces and bolt to the inner fender well. They are different by year, ie. braces from a 65 will not fit a 66. I can not find in any catalogs. Can anyone help?

Re: Convertible fender braces

and on a side note. are you going for an "original" car? Or is there some other reason you don't want the extra support from the monte carlo bar?

Re: Convertible fender braces

I am looking to go back to the original braces. I can only assume that the picture you show is not a convertible. The braces I am looking for go next to the export braces seen in the picture. Thanks again.

Re: Convertible fender braces

are they basically a rod with the ends flatened with holes through them? Probably bent angles on each end? I think i know what you are talking about and remember seeing some at one point in time in the garage at my dads house. I'll take a peak around when i'm digging through stuff.

Re: Convertible fender braces

Exactly as you describe. I talked to a few people and no one knows what they are called.

Re: Convertible fender braces

I know it doesn't help for finding the part. But this is what your looking for right? The long bars, bolt to firewall with export brace, then to the inner fender.
