lighting question

I have just bought halo headlights for my 01 GT, i installed them and they work and look great! but the lighting just by the halo's is more then enough for driving in my city. now when you put the E-brake down the base lights come on Automatically. I would like to know how i can disable that feature because it really takes out the whole look of the headlights when they are on.

thanks-ken

Re: lighting question

Are you in Canada? Near Canada? Was the car ever in Canada? That sounds like the daytime running lamps (DRL). If you are in Canada I'm assuming it's illegal to not have DRL since the Canadian models had to come equipped. If I'm wrong about the law or your location but it is still the DRL I'm assuming you can just disconnect it or go from there.

That is my take on it.

You can also constantly ground the parking brake, however the dash light will stay on. You might be able to diode isolate it to keep the lights off as well as keep the PBL from coming on when it's disengaged.

Re: lighting question

I'm not sure that you can directly disconnect the DRL, you can try and see if you're headlights will still turn on, but I'm thinking they won't. You will most likely have to splice in the wires to connect the two plugs you have disconnected.
