I do not know much about the 4.6L to 5.0L swap, you don't hear too much about them but if I had to take a guess then you will probably need to change the K-member. The K-member from the LX I highly doubt will fit, but the good news is you can probably get one from a '94 or '95 GT which had the 5.0L engine. I would also think that the 4.6L motor mounts and the 5.0L motor mounts will not line up.

I can't currently think of any reasons why the tranny wouldn't bolt up, but something is telling me there is a difference. I could certainly be wrong and perhaps '88 is late enough for a direct bolt in :dunno:

Of course there is also all the vacuum lines, ECU and all those other things that will need to be adjusted for the five-oh.

Re: 4.6 to 5.0 swap

Pretty much everything has to come from the 5.0 car to the 96. If I'm not mistaken, the K member might actually work but the control arms will not because fox body control arms are shorter than the SN95's. The T45 tranny in the 96 will not bolt up to the 5.0 because the bellhousing does not match up, nor is it interchangeable as the t45 intergrates the bellhousing with the tranny while the T5 in the LX is a 2 piece setup. Computer, wiring, and all the accessories from the LX has to be transferred to the 96. Remember, the 96 is an OBD2 car, while the fox is an OBD1 car.
