Test Driving a Roush

Test driving an 02 stage 1 tomorrow with 19k miles. Any problems I should look for? I know that I should check the cd player but besides that idk what to look for inparticular. Also, doesnt the stage 1 have the same motor as the GT? And this car is listed at 13,900, does that sound too low? I realize thats a lot of questions but any help would be great.

Re: Test Driving a Roush

the roush stage 1 is a stock GT with a body kit, maybe a couple this and thats... probably nothing. maybe rims. just drive it and check teh tranny fluid and oil for crap before you do the deal.

13,9 isn't a bad deal at all really man, depending on mileage and wear.

Re: Test Driving a Roush

I have been seein stuff about a stage 1 v6(do they even make those), whats that all about? Just people who make 6ers look like roushes? Cause I didnt think to ask the guy if it was a v8, that would suck to go there and find its a 6er.

Re: Test Driving a Roush

from what i heard the stage 1 was a v6, the stage 2 was the GT both of which have a body kit, side exhaust, wheels, susupension, intake, etx.. and the stage 3 has all that plus a blower and brakes etc.

Re: Test Driving a Roush

i think they make a stage 1 in a GT, dont expect much but a stock GT. Still nice though, pretty much worth 1 grand (plus wheel fees) over an oem gt.

you could always count the spark plug wires(or coils). if its 6, walk away.

if it has your typical spark plug wires then it's not a V8, the mod motors use Coil On Plugs. You won't see a distributor.

Re: Test Driving a Roush

yeah, i once made the mistake of telling someone on stangnet to check plugs/wires when he was having a misfire on his 02. then i was like "doh", cause at the time, i was still used to plugs/wires in the dsm, and if theres ever a ignition problem, plugs usually are the culprit, as 20+psi kills them pretty fast, and even worse if youre running anything BUT the ngk bpr7es. too bad i dont go there much, i love Teh BMC alot more.

Stage 1= V6 plus some goodies.
Stage 2 = GT plus some goodies.
Stage 3 = GT plus better goodies.
