Automotive Phone App. Need Your Feedback

Hi everyone.

We are going to start development of an Automotive phone app and want to get your feedback on things that you would find useful in it. We want it to be a tool for you when working on your car.

Keep in mind, this will be non make specific so the tools have to be broad enough to be used on all types of cars.

So far we have come up with two things that will be added:

An Octane Calculator
Fuel Economy Calculator
Maintenance Alert (Oil change etc)

We want to know what you would like to have in an automotive app in this nature. Your feedback will go a long way to having this app completed and if your idea makes it into the app you will be given credit on the information page.

So throw your ideas out there. We want to get started on this right away.

Re: Automotive Phone App. Need Your Feedback

They have a product out there called a "hot rod calulator" I have one it's about $90. It has multiple programs in it to cal. Hp., tq., ET., carb. Size and lots of others. When I get home I'll see who makes it. That would be awesome if you could do different cal. In one app.

Yeah, I've got the aCar app, as well as the aDyno app.
Both are buggy on my Moto Droid right now though.

I'm not sure how to explain it any better. If you have a phone that allows you to use Apps (iPhone for example) we want to make a robust Automotive App.

How about a thread gauge? Just a bunch of simple drawings that look like this:

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

That you hold bolts up to on the screen to determine threading on bolts?

We were actually thinking about something similar to this. Using the phone to get what size bolt its looking at is a suggestion we also had from my site.

Re: Automotive Phone App. Need Your Feedback

I was thinking, would you be able to do a Mustang Evolution App? Maybe have the front page as a widget that updates, notifications when new replys are posted and for private messages?

Re: Automotive Phone App. Need Your Feedback

id say emergency/roadside info/faq that would give advice on how to handle emergency situations (spare tire, how to place flares, etc.)
