Re: Spectator killed at Carolina dragstrip

I've always been wary of that.. I've heard stories from my dad's drag racing buddies of nitrous backfires and engines coming apart that had injured bystanders/spectators.. I'd be wary of being that far down the track and spectating, trusting only a metal guard rail to protect me.. Well it stopped the car in this case, but not the whole car..

Re: Spectator killed at Carolina dragstrip

Well they don't let you that close anymore at TMS but 6 yrs ago we went on a company paid trip and had a suite with pit passes so on the way to the tunnel I stopped by the fence gripped it with 2 hands and got as close as humanly possible. That was one of best things I've ever done besides getting to do laps there a couple weeks ago.
