S197 GT500's everywhere?

Is anyone else seeing S197 GT500's popping up on Craigslist like crazy? Just over the past week Ive seen them blow up on CL.This probably has to do with dealers wanting to unload them because of the hype on the 2011 GT. I might just jump on one....

Re: S197 GT500's everywhere?

Yah I've noticed a sudden increase in GT500's for sale and on the street...I guess if you desire an 07 and can pick up one up with low miles for under 38k, you'll get it.

Lot of them being dumped due to the economy still - lost jobs, making less money, etc. When it comes to paying the mortgage or selling the GT, house usually wins. Think about it, ever sleep in the backseat?

If someone wanted to trade me one for my GT + truck... I think I'd be game.

Honestly I have done that before. Not as bad as you think but it is no soft mattress, I had to do it once. Plus the GT500 can take you to work to make some green.

That is one of two reasons the Mustang has folding rear seats you know.

at 6'2" and weight ranging between 298 and 211 since I've owned a Mustang... I can say I've slept in the back seat and while I woke up with a neck ache, I got it done.

The economy is one thing, maybe they finally realize it is not a "Collector" car. But I also know a number are selling to get the '11 with the new SVT package and the Alloy block.

This is very true. My Uncles friend owns a Ford dealer in Carol Stream,IL and he said that he has had four people trade their 2007 GT500s for the new 2011 GT500.

Also there are too many made for it to be a classic, which is not bad because price will come down and peons like myself could possibly afford one. But for it to hit collector status we need to wait a decade or two IMO.

Re: S197 GT500's everywhere?

I was looking on Cars.com and they had 26 GT500s for sale in a 50 mile radius. Does anyone know were you could fine production numbers for the 2007-2010 GT500s? It would be very interesting to see how many GT500s they built compared to 2003/04 Mach 1s and what not.

I have heard about 23000 total for 7, 8, and 9. Somewhere about 5000 for the 10's last I heard.

Re: S197 GT500's everywhere?

I think the 07 was around 10k, then down from there. Each year colors were changed a little but not much. More or less the 07 - 09 are the same car with tweaks each year. 10 - 11 the same.

Compare that to:

19440 2003/04 SVT Cobras
2003-2004 Mustang Cobra Production Numbers

16789 2003/04 Mach 1s
Mustang Heaven - Mach 1 Production Numbers
