Question I'm very torn, I need ME's help

Okay so as most of you know my father passed away almost 2 months ago. Well here in the next month or so we will be getting the life insurance money. I've decided it's time to get another mustang. Definitely manual and will definitely be a v8. I'm leaning towards a vert, but will consider and coupe/hatch depending on the car. So here is what I am torn about. I dont know if I want a fox or another sn95. I'm not looking to build the fastest car on the road. I want something that looks good. Handles good and has good power. Probably around 300hp is the goal. I dont need a lot. So help me out. I'm dead 50/50 on it right now. I know I still have time to decided. So help me out with pro's and con's!

Re: I'm very torn, I need ME's help

IMO I just can't get past the boxy look of a fox body. The sn95's lines are much nicer.

I'll agree. If you're wanting a good looking street car go SN95. If, however, you decide to build a no-compromise drag car, the fox is hard to beat.

You could do some cool things with an S95. I agree with everyone else if you think you are going to be drag racing it go with the fox.

I love the sn95's. It's what I'm leaning towards I think. Here is my old 96 GT.

Fox coupe! (If its a hatch, specifically a GT, get the **** out!) Coupes just have a simple sexiness about them.

Re: I'm very torn, I need ME's help

I say 94-98 cobra...good platform to build on, and they look dead sexy when done up nicely.

If you want the 5.0 pushrod then the 94-95's the best route, but if you like the modular 4v, then hello 96-98.

Re: I'm very torn, I need ME's help

I love foxes, but if you are looking for something that handles and rides well, you would have to dump alot of money into the suspension of a fox to restore it's ride quality.

There's nothing bad, or wrong, about a stroked out, big-displacement LS2 and a 4000-stalled 4L60E.

I agree, until it finds its way into a fox...then there are many, many bad things about it.

I would go for an SN95, its cheaper to find a clean one vs a clean fox

At the car show last weekend we saw about 4 or 5 of them in a row, and I nearly gagged...I just can't come to like them. If I were given one would I take it, yes it's a v8 and a mustang (sort of, lol)...would I throw any money at one, hell no.

It would be everything I love about Ford mixed with everything I love about GM. A match made in heaven.

I agree. Clean, unadulterated Foxes are getting rare. I like the Four-eyed cars, too, but you have to dump too much money in them, such as 5-lug conversions, swapping the 7.5 for a 8.8 inch rearend, etc. I've looked at a number of Foxes here locally, and all of them were beat. Some looked good from 20 feet, but had torn torque boxes, damaged rear control arms, and especially worn-out, dirty and dated interiors. Few had working smog equipment. I have seen several nice SN95s and New Edges that were really affordable, however.
