Re: Ford company

Yes their symbol is "F" and they are traded on the New Stock Exchange. That would be a good one to do. Yahoo finance is a good starting place. They have a lot of history starting with the Model T first mass produced car. Benz was actually the first car sure you knew that. Ford also converted their factory to build planes (B-24's) during WWII. Henry Ford actually made that factory operating 24/7 See Willow Run Factory. You should be able to find a lot of info through a good database.

Re: Ford company

Zomg, yes ford is a publicly traded company (officially it is ford motor company)! Pretty much any large company that isn't a non-profit or government agency is a publicly traded company.

I would definitely have a slide of the different companies/brands that ford owns to demonstrate their global presence and diversity. I'd show how they own Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda (partially), Aston Martin (partially), and formerly Jaguar, Volvo, and Land Rover. It would be a neat graphic/slide in my opinion at least.

Re: Ford company

Ford has sold Jaguar Land Rover and Aston Martin to Tata Motors but still build and sells engines to them. Ford also Just sold Volvo to a Chinese firm called Geely International. Ford also has its own finance institution called Ford Motor Credit.

Ford also discounted Mercury at the end of 2010 with limited 2011 products. So right now its Just Ford and Lincoln.

If you need any help on this feel free to help. Ford Motor Company is my passion I could answer almost any question for you about Fords past and present products to their plan to balance their sheets to return to investment grade.

I did and I am very happy. Even since they are nearing investment grade again. There is rumor that a dividend will come back first quarter of 2011. I would also say if F goes down to around $10 its still a good deal IMO.

Re: Ford company

There are lots of interesting bits of history to Ford as well.....just one.... is that the Model-T was the first flex fuel vehicle in America capable of running on gasoline or ethanol with a special Holley carb for the ethanol. Before the Volstead act that is, after that, gas was king......
