I've got the FEVER

Ok, so since I've sold my car I've regretted it every second.

I was in b/w a rock and a hard place so I had no choice and it was a great offer. Well, now that I'm back in the dealerships I've got fever...

I came across a Silver 2003 10th Cobra 'Vert for a good deal. It has a clean vin, title, and body (besides the front plate holes)
Salesman says it has a clutch (but I think it has an adjuster and Quad based on the pics..hopefully a clutch too)

The kicker... It has 81,466 miles compared to my 68,000 mile Mystichrome and the driver's seat has some wear.

What do you guys think I should do?

Re: I've got the FEVER

you have a mystichrome why do you want this one instead? If I was buying one and it was my fun car (can keep it nice) I would buy a low mileage one around 20-40k miles for about 18-22k depending on just how clean it is. So are you looking to buy another one or trade to a different one?

There are a few in alabama that pop up here regularly in good shape.

I sold my MC about 2 months ago(for a good deal)! You must have missed my misery thread.

I was just comparing the mileage. I want a low mile but this car is a great deal... I don't know what to do. Part of me wants to jump on it and part of me wants to look around and be patient.

Re: I've got the FEVER

I know the feeling. I found my Mustang completely out of the blue. I was looking at CarMax thinking I'm not going to find the right Mustang here. I entered my price range and it was one of 5. Every car from there on out I thought about this one. If your mind wont let go of the car get it. The seat can be fixed by an upholstery specialist person.

Re: I've got the FEVER

I like the color and looks in great shape, i feel the same that the seat can be fixed by a good shop. The standard in 12,000 miles per year and that just fits the picture so. The final decision would be the negoiation of the price.

I like it.

lowflyn... I love your car and Sonic Blue would be a great car to have, although I for some reason tend to stay away from previously (what I call) 'moderately/heavily" modded cars. I like the idea of stock or a near stock car. Now I do know that this car pictured above has more than likely had a pulley setup (due to the pulley cover missing) and some other mods that I may not see. It was probably driven a little harder and had the clutch replaced thus explaining the adjuster/quad/clutch the salesman told me about.

I think my biggest concern is mileage and well...truth be told... this car has too many for me. I'll keep looking and keep my eyes out.

Also, your price is great but I'm looking to stay a little lower (I know your mods are definettely valuable to you)

Exactly what I was looking for when I bought the car. Everything done was well researched and only the proven parts were used. If you change your mind and want a very well documented car just let me know.

Re: I've got the FEVER

yea its hard when a good deal comes up, I had the chance to get an 03 sonic blue cobra vert with 31k miles for 18k 1 owner all stock I just couldnt justify getting another one... the right one will come up its just a matter of finding it and waiting for it

DO NOT RUSH IT AT ALL the longer you wait the cheaper it will be and the more money you will have saved up so why not wait

high mileage 03/04s that are in modest to good condition are selling for good prices, but if you are looking for one why not buy a really good condition one.

Yea, and that's what I'm telling myself... I think I'm going to take my time, find the car I can't live with out, and buy it. I'm not to picky on color it just specifics that I care about.. (except that I'm not getting black b/c my brother has one...or Redfire b/c of ROB)

The sad part is Brad's car looks more interesting every day.

Re: I've got the FEVER

Damn, that car looks clean (body/interior wise-minus the seat), but 81k is a lot of miles. (at least to me anyways), especially given what can be done to these cars.

As said, be patient, there are plenty of them popping up these days...and you'll be glad you waited when you find the "right" one. I can't wait to start shopping for a cobra...that's half the fun, the pursuit!

You will know when the right one comes. It's hard to describe it just happens. It's like sex on wheels.

Re: I've got the FEVER

modded is fine as long as its done right and by someone who knows what they were doing, its how the car was treated with those mods that matters after that~ if thats all good then I dont see a huge issue with buying a car that has some mods.

I mean... why would I want a 100% stock 03/04 cobra when I plan to modify it anyway lol

Re: I've got the FEVER

wow always nice to come across a good one! I always have the worst luck in the world finding just an unmolested V8 convertible 5 speed when I seem to have the cash in my hand. had to drive 200 mi away to pick this one up when I was ready. I furiously searched every craigslist listing in a 300 mi radious made a list of about 11 potential canadates, then started close and worked my way away. well by about the 8th car and 200 miles later I had bought my new stang from a police officer who had it for sale and was on my way home. love my baby

Re: I've got the FEVER

So, I've been trying to get ahold of the guy with the Screaming Yellow car to offer him a price. He never returned my phone calls/PMs/emails but I did notice that he changed the info in the listing on SVTP to let everyone know that he couldn't buy whatever he wanted so now he is not selling his car. Gay. Off to shop some more.

Wow.... steep. I'm sure he has cared for this vehicle meticulously but that's steep for this car. Besides, I wouldn't buy a car I have knowledge of spray being used. It's a gamble a very big gamble. I also wonder, why is he getting rid of the car after 7 years when he just added spray a couple months ago... hmm
