Post 2007 Twister Special "prototype"

My brother bought a 2007 Grabber Orange Gt and transformed it into a "Twister Special" using graphics from the 1970 Twister Special. He also used a "Fang Performance" shaker hood kit to complete the look along with some 18" Mach1 wheels. He did a complete exhaust system with x-pipes to make it sound right. Looks good...but the Mach 1 needs to come off and that pubic hair looking twister sticker should go as well....

The Mach 1 stripe would look better on the lower portion of the car. It looks out of place right through the middle, like that.

Re: 2007 Twister Special "prototype"

If he's trying to re-create the twister special then he did it right with the twister decal and higher mach 1 stripe.

Whether it's an accurate recreation, or not, it's still ugly down the middle of the door... In my opinion, anyway.

Re: 2007 Twister Special "prototype"

Everyone and their brother has a stripe on the bottom of their doors. He is trying to make it the way Ford would have if there was such a thing - down the middle. As for the Mach1 thing - he did get the wheels correct. He is working on the performance next - he'll get the HP up to a respectable level - something you would expect for a car with MACH1 written on the side of it. I'm trying to talk him into a supercharger... I'd personally like to see 400+ HP out of it when done. thanks for everyones opinions!

I like what he did with the car, im just not a fan of grabber orange period...i think it's an ugly color and ford should bring back screamin' yellow, but then again, I guess I have a personal bias toward the screamin' yellow! lol

Who was that to? The twister replica above isn't comp orange.

The 2004 car in the center is Competition Orange. Its my brother Dan's car. Bone stock except for the "me too" stripe on the door, the decal on the hood scope and a CAI.

Re: 2007 Twister Special "prototype"

orange is a difficult color to capture with a camera. I can't get any of our orange cars to turn out good right. Maybe I will have to place them beside something red next time.

Reviving old thread...

Some people are visionaries... This previous owner had Fang Performance install their "Fang Twister Package" on his 2007 GT.
Little did they know how popular this "misbadged Mach 1" package would become. Dealers and R&A Motorsports started creating and selling their own versions of the "Twister Special" in 2008 and 2009. Follow these links...
Grabber Orange 2009 Ford Mustang GT Coupe - MustangAttitude.com Photo Detail

http://www.mustangandfords.com/featured-vehicles/m5lp-0810w-2008-twister-mustang/

I love this car so much... I just purchased it! Some changes have been made to it during it's evolution by the original owner...and more will be made to it! Granted this car may not be everyones' cup of tea... but if every Mustang looked the same, you might as well by a Prius . If you want to call it misbadging, feel free ... I think of it more as a tribute to a car I could never afford to own..
And that Gentlemen is my .02

I'm new here... so I'm digging in the archives!
(And this thread came up in a google search for the Fang!)

If it's the listing...Ford Torino | eBay

that car looks awesome! Again... the seller is not trying to pass the car off as a true Twister. He made a tribute to a vehicle no longer available. Good luck if you pull the trigger!!!

I have been in communication with the two people that started Fang Performance Inc.. After finding out a bit more about Fang (the company and my car) I have come to find out my car was the only Twister Special customized by Fang. My cars' serial number is #024, and is one of the last customized before the corporation was voluntarily dissolved on 02/28/2008.
Updated pics with new items installed...

18X9 Black Bullitts, body color caliper covers, rear decklid stripes and badges, OEM Twister Special quarter panel decals, Saleen type serial number designating Fang build number, and 1.5" suspension drop...
