Color Suggestions needed

Ok, I'm getting the fox from my parents house this weekend (where it died on me) and will be looking to pull the motor and trans from it this week/next weekend. After some much needed engine bay clean up, shaving, and prepping, the new motor will be going in. Here's where the fun comes. The car looks like donkey **** on the outside and the interior. Nothing a good paint job and some replacement interior parts can't fix. However, since I have the motor out, I am going to finish the engine bay and motor off while I have free access to it.

Here are the things I am going to do to the engine/engine bay as it sits right now with my initial thoughts/plans in parenthesis. The main theme is to do a yellow on black scheme as the exterior of the car is going to remain black.
  • Powder coat the upper and lower GT40 intake (I'm leaning 2 tone with the main body of both the upper and lower in black with the raised fin portion of the upper in yellow)
  • Paint engine block (this will be a dark color...either black or the dark ford blue)
  • Paint the stock heads (I'm leaning to painting them black, but contemplating painting them yellow)
  • New "Powered by ford" valve covers. (Not sure if I want the main body black with the raised fins yellow like the upper intake, or vice versa)
  • Powder coat the timing cover and water pump (yellow)
  • Powder coat the tensioner (black)
  • Paint the engine bay (logic says keep it black, but, with all the black on the motor, what about going with a yellow bay)
  • Powder coat the stock K-Member and control amrs the opposite color of the engine bay.

Here's some pics of the parts mentioned for those that can't picture them:

I have to agree with SaleenFiend. I'm horrible at picking colors but I like the Mustang Powered by Ford valve covers. Not something you see much of on the orginal fox. Plus with the black color combo it will look sharp.

Re: Color Suggestions needed

Not a fan of yellow and black but if your interested here is my suggestion.

Powder coat the upper and lower GT40 intake - Black or Dark Corporate Ford Blue
Paint engine block - Dark Corporate Ford Blue
Paint the stock heads - Black
"Powered by ford" valve covers. - 3ND PICTURE
Powder coat the timing cover and water pump (Black)
Powder coat the tensioner (Black)
Paint the engine bay - Flat BLACK
Powder coat the stock K-Member and control arms - Dark Corporate Ford Blue

As for the car itself, Black.

I'm trying to lean away from black/red combo since my cobra is also red with black accents. I've thought about it though as it could be the reverse colors of the cobra...but wanted to maybe veer to a different scheme.

Re: Color Suggestions needed

what if you went with something completely different like BMW's Laguna Seca Blue, it's a rare color, and looks really good on agressive looking cars, it was the one of the rarest color, if the rarest color for the M3 back in the day. A good paint shop could do it, maybe with a dark slate or charcoal interior...

Yea, I love that color. Rob, you may not remember but we had one of these 'rare' M3s at a Hooters show last year.

I think the red/ black combo works best and that would be cool to go opposite the cobra. But I agree with the colors saleenfiend picked. I would keep the yellow to a minimum but just enough to add a final touch

???

But, yellow on black I think is a much better combo than red on black. More pronounced color definitions.
