sent my 2007 shelby gt to shelby in las vegas to have a couple things done to it.after a couple of weeks wait, the hauler arrived to pick up my car.4 days later my car arrived in las vegas--shelby auto called---said the car has several scratches on it--when it left here my car has 2200 miles on it--when it arrived in las vegas it had over 2400 miles on it--the hauler had ferris beullered my car--i was pretty enraged, talked to a lawyer i know,we are taking legal action against the hauler, who will not return my calls..

Re: hope this does not happen to you

I cannot say who the hauler was...YET.....the hauler wants to settle out of court. My lawyer is negotiating.I do not know what will happen.I know I am in the right. The hauler has insurance.I 'm sure my lawyer know's the hauler has insurance. With everyone knowing about the insurance of this mess ,I'm pretty sure everything will work out...I bought the 2007 Shelby GT(Black with gray strips)because,I felt it was a "Real" Shelby and it was much like my first Shelby...
I returned from VietNam in May 1970.I was stationed at Hamilton Air Force Base.HAFB was a beautiful place, just across the Golden Gate Bridge,on the bay, just outside San Francisco Ca.I wanted a car.I looked at several Vette's.A guy advertised a 1966 Shelby Mustang in trhe newspaper.I bought the car for $1900.00.It was white with blue stripes across the top and had 82,000 miles on the odometer.Soon,I was discharged. The Shelby was windy, rough, ran hot,had no radio, but handled good and had a 4-speed transmission.I loaded up and left San Francisco, traveled South through Needles Ca. then through Arizona, then across the USA,until I came to Kentucky, where I stopped.I was home.I went to college and Pharmacy School.I still have my 1966 GT 350.It has 160,000 miles on it,and is parked in a garage close by...I call lawyers, when dumb car haulers, have no sense of homage, bonding, and history.I will not abide such behavior.

200 and some extra miles, and no telling what other damage was done besides the scratches?

Re: hope this does not happen to you

Damn, that sucks! I had sent my Lincoln Mark VII to tranny shop, when I picked it up the right side tail light was busted, when I asked the guy said "Oh, well you sent it that way". Such Bull****, I take care of my vehicles and being that I had no proof that his shop did it, I couldn't make him pay for a new light. So, lesson learned...take pictures and details about the vehicle whenever you get it towed to a shop, and do as the dearlerships do, have the jackoff that takes/repairs it initial something stating what condition the car is in. Granted, it's not 200 miles and scratches, but still, I feel for you!

Re: hope this does not happen to you

Is there some kind of Gag order? You have every right in the world to say who it was. Your doing fellow Car enthusiast a disfavor by not sharing this information. They basically stole your car for a day and abused it.

Re: hope this does not happen to you

horrible, dont sit on it and let it go make sure they pay, people dont realize its not just as simple as buffing or "painting" cuz no matter what when you paint a car you will tell... and it will never be as it was plus it will have it marked forever on the vehicle report that it took place... I would make sure the person who drove the car paid for it... I would personally fire them if it was my business. Even driving 200 miles... how do you scratch it up WTF.. .some people are so ignorant when it comes to simply taking care of a vehicle.

Re: hope this does not happen to you

Did you ship the car through Shelby, or did you find the vendor on your own ??
