Depends on what you want. The H pipe has a little more of a low rumble where as the X pipe will be a little more high pitched. The X pipe will probably net you slightly better power than the H, although it's pretty much negligible. I would choose based on the sound you prefer and go from there.

Worst case, try to find some YouTube clips of V8 stangs with the same exhaust set-up minus an X versus H pipes. It's obviously going to sound different than your car, but it may at least give you a feel for the differences between the two.

Is that even for offroad x pipes with now cats?

Re: Question

If you have an h-pipe just keep that...the v6's are high pitched enough without an o/r x-pipe, that would make it even worse.

Keeping cats will maintain a better "tone" imo throughout the rpm range. An off road pipe will make the exhaust louder, but sometimes louder isn't always better. V6's with x-pipes and straight thru muffles sound way to raspy and high pitched to me.

A lot of people have off road pipes and love them...it just depends on what you want.

I wouldn't do an off-road pipe on a V6. Ask SpectorV what he used to run on his. I always liked the way it sounded for a six.

Re: Question

Sometimes American Muscle includes them in a monthly sale or something. Check them out along with the other site sponsors...some people recommend used sets off craiglist, but you are gambling there...you might end up with something you didn't want or inserts in an undesirable condition.

I'd stick to buying new in this case.

If you like em get em. I think they are okay on the '05 and up, but not so much on the New Edge cars.

K. I'll see if I can get a good deal on some. If not then I won't get them. They do look a lot better on 05 +

Get the louvres for the back too. I think it would be a throwback to the original boss 302. Go for it
