Dam i kno exactly what u mean. I forgot to tighten a couple of my lug nut on my cobra rims as well but i was lucky i heard loud noises so i pulled over and found my wheel was loose so i jacked it up and tightened all the lug nuts tight. And ever since then i double check my lug nuts.

Ha, yeah needless to say I do that. Scary time, good thing I can work on my car myself. That was about a 600$ Job I did for about a 100 with parts and everything.

I don't think I could say the millions of dollars I have saved myself and my friends and family for working on our cars.

Re: dumbest mistake you've made

Wish I had a dad like that, he taught my sisters how to do things to cars, I've been on my own since I got my first car.
I know my son will be there learning from me!

I'm torn between auto tech at the community college or going to NC state for a computer programming degree.

The only thing I can think of...wasn't really a mistake with my car but.. We had a 87 s10 that was in our yard on a little incline, the transmission linkage didn't quite match up right with the gear selector from the new transmission being put in. My car was in the lower part, well I'd just parked the chevy and my mustang and I come back down tge driveway to find that it had backed into tge front passenger fender. It made a huge dent.

I had a old boss do something similar he had a house on a mountain side, we hooked up the boat to go wakeboarding, went inside to tell everyone we were ready, by the time we got out his truck and boat were gone, we looked down the driveway and saw the Malibu in the middle of the road with out the trailer so we ran down and found his truck and the boat trailer in the neighbors, who live down the hill, f***ing kitchen! what a Fu**in day!

Re: dumbest mistake you've made

Not me but funny story.I was working at a oil change shop and one of the young kids got some hot girls in his bay. He told the guy in the pit it was clear to drop so he drains the oil then calls back clear to fill after he puts tye plug back in.Meanwhile, this kid is uptop flirting with these chicks and forgets to fill the car with oil.He sends the car out bone dry and 20min later they call from the side of the road with a blown engine which we had to pay for........dip****.
