Anybody see one of these before?

my friend ordered this car a little over a year ago and was built on fords assembly line as a straight up drag car. The car comes detuned @550hp and after you get nhra certified they give you the tune to open it up to 1100hp. It supposed to run 8.50's in the 1/4 mile. Very cool car!

One of my favorite things about it is it was built by ford using tons of after market parts. Here's just some of the specs I remembered:

5.4l supercharged with a 4 liter blower, strange axles, strange brakes, aeromotive fuel system, Hoosier tires, line lock, trans brake, c2 two speed tranny, monster tach, roll cage certified to 8.50's, 9" rear end with 4.10's, and power windows

No. He said it would depreciate the value too much. He bought it to double his money.

Agreed. What's the point of having a car that fast and beautiful and NOT driving it?

I'm the same way but he has a several other toys that he drives on the regular. My other favorite of his is a super performance mk III (66 Shelby replica) with a 521 cubic inch ford crate motor. This thing is bad too.

Must be SWEET to be able to afford that many toys. I know if I had the money that's where it would all go. You should get your friend to join the forum and post his pics!

Re: Anybody see one of these before?

I go to the NMRA races all the time and these Cobra Jets kick major ***. I meet a guy there that help developed the early Cobra Jets (2008-2009) and hes got a black convertible.

Its cool because he was telling me that all the 2008-2009 Cobra Jets were GT500s with a 9 inch rear. His was a test prototype that he bought from Ford for ONE DOLLAR after Ford released the final product to the public. His was serial number 3! Certainly one bad *** car.
