Wife is in the cobra today

Alright people. Have to fix the wife's car today so she took the cobra to work. This is terrifying for me. Its not the first time she has taken it but it's scary as hell anyway. It still doesn't have it's first scratch yet. Just venting.

Re: Wife is in the cobra today

I think I saw her misshifting and reving the hell out of it at a redlight while she rode the clutch for about a 1/8th of a mile.

It's ok clutch is on it's last leg and I gotta tear into the trans soon. I can fix the drivetrain but I don't do body work. It can come back smoking but not scratched. Lol

That was Vin Diesel. I saw her sell it to him on the way to work in exchange for a Honda Civic. She'll surprise you when she gets home

Maybe. She already knows all of the risks and consequences. There's always some sort of excuse why she should take the car.

There's a lady with a Black 10th at our body shop right now. The whole front bumper is torn up! oh and Vin Deisel was pulling his pants up in when he got out of the car with her. He won't stop smiling.

I plan to teach mine in the fox once I get the motor and trans swapped in. Need to see how much she's learned from the private tutoring lessons I've given her on driving stick...

Shes alright driving it. It's pretty tame as long as the boost gauge stays down. Parking lots scare me though.

It depends on whether I install the shorter handle or not...right now I have the longer MGW handle on it...so that might confuse her.

Ok. Just finished replacing the heated seat elements on the wife's suburban. I forgot how much that job sucks. I like to crack open the tool box every once in a while so I don't forget where I came from.

A MESSAGE TO ALL YOUNG ASPIRING MECHANICS: Find something else to do for a living. It's not glamourous or fun to do for a living. All of my mechanic friends want out of the business. Now you can't say that you weren't warned.

I wish I could make sure this was shared with all the kids of the world. This business is very depressing and volitale. I'm sure there are parts that are nice and fun 'sometimes' but for the most part this business sucks. I want out. I have always wanted out. It's really hard to get out. One thing people don't realize ..when this becomes your job. You no longer want to do this for fun.

Re: Wife is in the cobra today

Its like being a computer programmer... its not like I get to program video games (rock start of programming as some see it) same goes for being a mechanic... the best and brightest are the one that get the really nice jobs doing what they love while the rest get to do all the crappy work at dealerships

Did that **** for 12 years professionally and have been in a shop since I was 5. I've been out for 3 years now and it is wonderful. I work for a chemical plant now as an operator. The goal of my job is to do as little as I can get away with. Making twice as much as I ever made as a mechanic. All I can say is get out if you can. And don't buy into that UTI bull****. But that's another thread all together.

No sir! I'm outta this ***** as soon as the first solid item lines up. I thought I found my scapegoat previously, but It back fired and now I came back to the business. While I was out I lived a happy life... but, I gotta pay the bills.
