Engine swap for 2000 v6 mustang

What would I be able to replace my 2000 v6 3.8 liter engine with if I ever blow my engine? Without getting a 98 v6 bc that one only has 150hp while I have 190 stock block v6?

Reason I ask this is bc with my car being 11 years old, I know parts will be outdated or no longer made. And what use is it to keep modifying my v6 if I ever blow the engine and can't replace it.

Not sure I understand what your saying. So you want to know what you can put in your car?

Re: Engine swap for 2000 v6 mustang

On that one I'm not sure. I do know that the 4.6 wouldn't be hard. I'm hoping that one of the other guys that has more experience with your body style chimes in though....

Nah, just generally confused sometimes.
So you are planning on buying a car off a lot and keeping yours?

Re: Engine swap for 2000 v6 mustang

Gotta have lots of money for a payment, and good credit to get that payment, lol.
I'd love to have one as well, but I would rather have an '03/04 Cobra myself. Hell, I'd trade both my cars for one if given the opportunity!

You have good taste. And yeah that's why I got a loan from the bank to get my new tansy. (automatic shift kit transmission) was 6,000$. So I can build up some great credit.

Damn, that's one expensive trans. I would have put all that somewhere else I think.

Re: Engine swap for 2000 v6 mustang

The only motors that will bolt to your trans is the 3.8L, 3.9L, 289, 5.0L"pushrod", 5.8L winsor, and the old 300 straight six. Oh and the old 250 straight six.

The 4.6 you will need basicly a recked donor car because you need alot of parts.
