dash lights dont come on :(

I was inthe parking lot waiting for my girlfriend. She got there so a turned on my lights and I heard a little tick. I blew a fuse so I decided to replace it but j tried it again and it did the same thing. The highbeam lights and everything else work fine, it's just the speedometer, tachometer, and te other 4 gauges. And I replaced the light switch too so it's not that
Please help I am so stumped!!!!!

Any help would be appreciated!!!!!!!

did it blow the fuse again when you replaced it? If you keep blowing fuses you may have a wire messed up somewhere around the cluster. Its pretty easy to take out.

Re: dash lights dont come on :(

Like Spector said, it's in your wiring somewhere. Have you recently installed an aftermarket radio, alarm system, or anything else that required wiring?

We are looking at it right now. We already replaced the light switch for no reason so that's not it

Re: dash lights dont come on :(

You have some sort of electrical short down there somewhere. a bare wire that's grounding out and overloading the circuit.

Ok so what I found is that it wasn't anything in the dash, since the lights with the air conditioning and stuff on it were out too I pulled that off and looked at all the wires. I unplugged the cigarette lighter and the main blue/red cable to the lights. I put in a new fuse and now the lights work fine. Really wired. I replaced the 5 bulbs in the dash and bought a new light switch. 4 days after school I worked on it.

So you think it was the fuse? Also may i ask which fuse it was? On my fuse box map it said there are like 5 that could be related to the instrument cluster. Oh also, were the lights on your A/C panel off too?
Thanks

Yeah the all Gauge lights and ac lights turned off. I checked the internal fuse box and found there was one blown. I kept blowing that same fuse until I pulled out the A/c panels and disconnected the main power to the A/C and the cigarette lighter and tried it again and bam it worked
